I would like to extend my condolences to the Modell family. Losing a parent is never easy. Mr. Modell contributed a lot to football, but I'm sure his sons would say his biggest contribution was being a father. Just know that God is with you to help heal your heart, and He promises

Art Modell is in the Hall of Fame of our Hearts for his Innovativeness in the NFL as well as his many Charitable Contributions and for being an All Around MVP Nice Guy.

My home is a couple of hundred yards from the Modell residence. While I never got to know Mr. Modell personally I remember well that he always went to the trouble to answer the door in person on Halloween every year. He made a special effort to entertain and engage the little kids--my son included.
