Born in Nepal, now living in USA, I would like to thank Maurice Herzog for his extreme efforts to reach the top of Annapurna. His book "Annapurna" details the heroic efforts as well as is a travelogue of that time. His ascent of Annapurna and his book certainly introduced Nepal to the world. His heroic efforts will never be forgotten. I along with my fellow Nepalese countrymen would like thank him for what he did for Nepal and would like to say a very sincere and heartfelt "Namaste". May his soul rest in peace.
