Margaret Mary McAloon, 90, affectionately know as Maggie to her dear friends, passed away in peace and joy as was her wish on March 21, 2013. She was an active, lifelong parishioner and honor graduate of Most Holy Rosary in Syracuse. She served as a moderator of the Jr. Legion of Mary and mentored many young women for whom she was a lifelong friend. She was a member of the Loretto and Vincent House Guilds. She retired as an office supervisor after forty- one years at Crouse Hinds. Maggie was a graduate of Syracuse University. She was most generous in supporting efforts to feed the poor, both locally and internationally. She enjoyed the company of her cousins, her Godson and his family, as well as her many friends. Her lively faith was exemplified in her frequent encouragement to just stretch out your hands to the Lord.
Thank you to the Staff at St. Camillus that served Margaret with great dignity in her final days.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Margaret (Healey) McAloon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Most Holy Rosary Church, with one hour of calling 9 to 10 a.m. prior to Mass.
Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Most Holy Rosary Food Pantry, 111 Roberts Ave., Syracuse, NY 13207.
