Margaret Shafer Obituary

Margaret Marlee Sorenson Shafer, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 of Gaithersburg, MD after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

She is survived by her beloved mother, Leora Sorenson, of Chittenango, NY; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Alan Heller; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Richard Eckhardt; cherished grandchildren, Mary, Leora and Will; niece, Danielle; and other cousins and relatives.

Marlee graduated from Chittenango High School, SUNY Albany and taught in Montgomery County, MD Public Schools for over 30 years.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Derwood, MD on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. Interment will be in Cazenovia, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition or the Montgomery County, MD, Humane Society.

Condolences to the family. I can remember when Marlee Dena, and I used to
hang out. Marlee lived on Kinderhook, Dena and I used to live on Bolivar and
we rode the bus together. We also graduated together. Where did the time go. Marlee I will always remember you with fond memories.
