Tara McMahon Obituary
Tara was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Violet and Christian Harfmann of Syracuse; and her paternal grandmother, Marcia McMahon.
She is survived by her loving parents, Marty and Karin (Harfmann) McMahon; her paternal grandfather, James McMahon of Syracuse, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.
A private service will be held to honor Tara's life.
The family is requesting contributions to be made in honor of Tara to the CNYSPCA and the McMahon / Ryan Child Advocacy Center in Syracuse.

I had the pleasure of caring for Tara her last year at Walberta Road. It was so uplifting each day to see her broad smile, obvious she came from a very loving home. Caleb, Lee and Tara entered kindergarten together 10 years ago and have been good friends ever since. Caleb loved helping Tara whenever he could. Her smile always lit up the room.
Tara brought out the best in everyone! She will live on in everyone's heart and now heaven has a very special angel watching over all of us.

As Tara's school nurse during her Cherry Road years, I can tell you that she brought an upbeat vibe with her every time I saw her. You couldn't visit with Tara and not smile. (How many people can we say that about?) What a legacy, that in her 15 years, she so deeply impressed upon us her infectious smile, happiness, joy and love...if we could all be so lucky as to leave that behind for our loved ones to cherish. I am so, so sorry to hear of Tara's passing. My son Jason was in her class through Walberta up until 3rd grade at Cherry Rd. He loved Tara. We have a picture of her with some other students from a field trip they went on, on our refrigerator. He will still talk about her from time to time. I was in Tara's Kindergarten class. I always loved to sit next to her when the class met together. She was always happy and a great classmate. I am very sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful person. (Ashley)
I was also in Tara's fifth grade class with Ms.Clemo 2 years ago. She would always have a beautiful smile on her face that made everyone happy. My daughter went to school with Tara. When I told her the news, she was deeply saddened. Even though they weren't in the same classes, my daughter says she always said hello to Tara in the hall and that Tara was happy, lovable and so sweet. To have the capacity to touch so many people, even ones she barely knew, says a lot about Tara. She was truly loved by everyone who came into contact with her. I have known Tara since preschool when my Nick went to Bellevue Heights with Tara - he was so sad to learn of her passing, as am I. How lucky I was to have her as a student at Walberta.
