Dr. Thomas Walnut taught me the most difficult class I ever took as a student at SU - I didn't learn much but that wasn't his fault. He was patient, kind, soft spoken and always encouraging.

He would stop jogging when I pulled along side him around the Tecumseh neighborhood so that we could briefly chat.

I shall always remember his gentleness.
