Wow, I just received news on the passing of Dr. Edward and am deeply saddened. I was a student of her's thorough out my undergrad and graduate studies in the Special Ed program at FSU. She was the reason for me being acknowledged by FFMT as student of the year and helped mold me into the special Ed teacher that I am today. My condolences go out to her family and friends and may her soul rest peacefully with God and his angels.
So sorry to hear about Barbara's passing and wish I had gotten to know her better. Her grandfather, Isaiah Edwards, Sr. was my grandfather's nephew. Therefore, she was my cousin. Her father taught at Coahoma Jr. College when I was a student there.
I worked with Barb during her doctoral program at the University of Kentucky. She was one of those special students one learns to care about because of her personality and dedication to her goals. My prayers go out to her family.
We extend our sincere condolences on the loss of our beloved Soror and charter member. Her light will always shine brightly in our hearts.

I am shocked to hear about Dr. Edwards passing. She was my favorite professor at FSU 00'-03'. She was very supportive and always encouraging. Beautiful inside and out. We will miss you.
I really enjoyed sharing practicum and interning students with Barbara. Her gentle guidance and shared wisdom in shaping special educators will have a powerful and lasting impact on the profession and the countless lives that are shaped.
