Helen Regina Mattuski
Tallahassee - Helen Mattuski passed away on January 15, 2018. She closely followed her husband Joe, who passed away on January 05, 2018. During the last week of her life, Helen was surrounded by her family who never left her side. Mom died of a broken heart.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her son Jimmy and grandson Ryan Joseph. Helen's extended family includes 5 children Pat, Joe (Alysa), Charlie (Lia), Tom and Jimmy; grandchildren Kristina, Nicole, Bryan, Mary and great-grandchildren Brooke, Callie, Anthony, Peyton and Ryan.
Helen was born on June 02, 1927 in Hatfield, Massachusetts to Frank and Sophia Paszek. Helen graduated from Smith Academy in 1945. Helen dated Joe Mattuski after WWII leaving messages in cherry red Lipstick on Joe's car windshield. Helen and Joe married on September 8, 1951 after Helen caught her man. They spent over 66 years happily married. Helen traveled the world with her husband and family living in England, Germany and the Philippines besides numerous locations in the U.S. Helen raised 5 children whom she was very proud of. She enjoyed being part of her families many activities which included providing transportation for all her kids. Helen loved taking car rides and viewing the scenery and wildlife of the U.S.
Helen and Joe's passing leaves a hole in the Mattuski family but also leaves a legacy of love and commitment to family. Joe had an unknown inscription on his wedding ring that was revealed once he passed; " Lifelong Love H.P to J.C.M 9/8/51" which defined their commitment to each other. Their family misses them greatly.
