William Thomas Morris
William Thomas Morris aged 99 died peacefully at home early Sunday morning, April 20. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Anne (Broom) Morris, daughter Barbara B. Leadbeater (Tim) of Tallahassee and son J. Emory Morris also of Tallahassee.
William Thomas Morris was born in 1914 in rural Ocilla, Georgia. During World War II he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific in 1943 and 1944 on the USS Miller, a Fletcher-class destroyer.
He graduated from Emory University in 1954 and later earned a Master's degree from Stetson University. After a successful career in real estate in the Orlando area he moved his family to Melbourne, Florida where he and his wife founded Morris Junior College in 1968. They sold the college in 1985 and retired to Tallahassee.
Visitation will be at Culleys funeral home on Riggins Road from 12 noon until 2PM followed immediately by the funeral service at 2PM on Friday, April 25. Following the funeral service interment will be at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park on Timberlane Road,

What a great man and patriot who'll certainly be missed by all. As neighbors of the Morris family, we'll miss our chats on the lawn with Bill but look forward to continuing a long lasting friendship with Anne, Barbara (Tim) and Emory.
