We may have lost but heaven has gained, a beautiful, wonderful Angel.

Many things can make a person memorable but few actually change the hearts of those around them. Looking back through the years, I can see how Fumi has changed and formed each by the power of example.
She spent many of her early years in Japan, as an eldest child from a broken family, commuting between Japan and Hawaii. It was her fortunate luck that avoided some of the most devastating times in history including the bombing of both Hiroshima and Pearl Harbour. She showed her determination and steadfastness in thwarting off numerous requests from courtship from her eventually spouse. As her life moves one, she shows her determination to do what many in our family will never do; move to another country and raise a family. She chose to raise her children in a very American way demonstrating dedication, domestication and undying love for those around her.
Many of her most memorable traits was her laugh. She would always laugh and smile. It was infectious. You knew, in her presence, that you have just met the kindest person you may ever encounter.
May her kind and loving spirit live on in those who have known her. Our lives have been blessed beyond measure and filled with her love eternally. Rest in peace, grandmother. We will miss you more than words could ever express.

She was a very special woman who never had a complaint about anything, even when she herself was in pain, physically or mentally. She had a kind heart and was always thinking of others before thinking of herself. My mother was awarded her angel wings and she will be forever loved and missed. She will never leave our memories or our hearts.
