Bonnie and family, Jim was my very first Sgt. I had the pleasure of working for him a few more times in my career. He was caring, giving, and very funny. My condolences to the Books family. May God guide you through your time of sorrow.

Bonnie and Family, I am so sorry to hear Jim has transitioned. I had no idea he was ill. My family and I extend our heartfelt sympathy and will keep all of you in our prayers. I am honored to have worked with him and have fond memories of our time together. I can so vividly remember the stories related to his bass fishing and "Matt the Bratt". Jim was an awesome police officer, sergeant and trainer. So many owe their knowledge and skills to Jim's guiding hand, patience and mentoring. Like Bonnie, I was a member of the class of 42. Bonnie was fortunate to draw Jim as an FTO and life mate. He will be missed.
