Mrs. Alice A. (Gasper) Fleck, of Taunton, entered into rest Wednesday, October 4 in Longmeadow of Taunton following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Merrill E. Fleck, Sr. She was born 84 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Miguel) Gasper. She was educated in Taunton and was a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Alice was employed as a Mental Health Assistant at Taunton State Hospital for many years. She was a member and Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Taunton, and the U.A.B. She enjoyed traveling to Florida, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family. She leaves: 4 sons: John Fleck of Taunton, Donald Fleck and his wife, Mary of Plymouth, Merrill E. Fleck, Jr. and his wife, Kim of Taunton, and Robert Fleck of Taunton; 3 daughters: Jean Silva of Rehoboth, Debra Ferreira of Taunton, and Claudine Chicki McGuire of Taunton; 1 brother: Anthony Gaspar of Ohio; 2 sisters: Helen of Florida and Pauline of Vermont; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Alice was also the mother of the late Paulette Gasper, grandmother of the late Jesse Fleck, and the sister of the late Richard and Joseph Gasper, Claudine Woodward, and Norma Leonard. Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Sunday, October 8 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
