PEGG, Blye Bittle, 88, passed away on November 22, 2015, at home surround-ed by her loving family. Blye was born on June 24, 1927 in Haines City, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil "Rocky" Pegg and her parents, William Maynard and Mable (Toms) Bittle. Blye was a devoted homemaker and dedicated teacher for 30 years in the Polk County School System. She attended the University of Maryland, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and transferred to Florida Southern College in Lakeland in 1949. While attending Florida Southern she caught Rocky's eye on the basketball court and they were married for 55 years. Blye was a loyal Haines City Hornet, worked tireless hours in her citrus groves and loved animals. She was a member of the Haines City Garden Club and enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life! Blye is survived by her daughter Pamela Pegg Gordon and grandchildren Chelsea and Chandler all of Tampa; and her brother William Gary Bittle of Haines City. The family will receive visitors at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 1:00-2:00 PM with services to imme-diately follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LifePath Hospice Inc., 12470 Telecom Drive, Suite 300 West, Temple Terrace, FL 33637. Condolences may be sent to oakridgefuneralcare.com.

I count myself lucky to have been a student when the Peggs were teachers. Blye and Rocky will always be special to me and many others who attended Haines City
schools.
