Dear Kenneth and Barbara,
My first acquaintance with you father dates to the early 50's when I served on his faculty at West Tampa J.H.S. As I reflect on those years I am awed by his selfless dedication to his profession. Heaven will be an even greater place with his arrival.

Our sincere condolences Terry, Aunt Zorida, Barbara and Ken. Uncle B was a wonderful man – Christmas Eve won’t be the same without him. I have been blessed to call such an incredible American success story part of my family for 25 years.

Ken, Megan and I grieve.

Barbara and Family, we miss Braulio already on our morning walks. His entrance into heaven will be greeted by the King of Peace with grandeur.

Braulio has faithfully completed his mission on earth as a selfless servant. You should all be very proud of him.

The National Education Association benefited greatly from Braulio Alonso's focus on international relations as he built and strengthened ties amongst education unions in Latin America and across the globe. We remember him well for all the ways that he advanced the NEA.

"Want to pay my respects to Braulio Alonso, who, though I only knew him for a too brief time, impressed me with his intelligence, integrity, devotion to and pride in his heritage and last but not least his humility!
This Caballero will be sorely missed!"

Braulio Alonso was a very fine international statesman for the teaching profession. He was my colleague and friend for many years.

Sonja Diaz (former student at West Tampa Jr. High School and Jefferson High School): Mr. Alonso has been mentioned many times over to my family and friends as a dedicated educator that touched my youth in a most positive and caring way. He is definitely the epitome of a "scholar and a gentleman!"
