I had the Honor to read the name Brittany B. Gordon on June 15th at the Illinois Freedom Run and Mideast Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, Illinois. Being a Gold Star Family ourselves, our hearts go out to the Family and Friends of this beautiful young Woman Warrior. We mourn along with you on such a trajic loss.

To the Gordon Family. My name is Jim Vanderbleek and I live in St. Pete. I went to St. Pete High. I wanted to find a way to honor our military families that have given thier all. Your daughters Fallen Floridian Cross will be set up this Memorial 2013 in Oviedo, Florida. The photo attached is a small example of the tribute honoring our Fallen Floridians.

Hello, I heard her Dad on NPR, I was so touched.
She sounds likes very special, brave, and unique woman. I want the family to know there are no words to say how much I along with many many others appreciate our freedom, and we will not forget it cost you your daughter as she layed down her life for us. I did not know Brittany, however, I heard her father speak on NPR radio this morning, and I knew I had to find out about her. She seemed like a wonderful person. Wishing the family peace and love.

I just wanted to let Brittany's family know that her name was read at the Veteran's Day ceremony last November in St. Marys, WV, and again yesterday at a meeting of the WV Professional Women.

But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate, we can not consecrate, we can not hallow this ground. The brave men and women, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

..... Rest in Paradise Brittany. I'm still in shock about this, I miss you and ? you soo much. We were best friends since childhood but also extended family we were like cousins/sister's. Still praying and thinking about the Gordon/Thompson family. Gone too soon. Thank you for everything you did for me but also your country.

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers (ps4fs@charter.net) is an organization with groups throughout the country who work to send handmade prayer shawls and/or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one while serving our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church would like to honor daughter's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a prayer gift which will be mailed to you.
