God Bless the memory of Freddie Solomon. He was a real credit to all mankind. It was a real joy to watch him play football at the University of Tampa.

As Chairman of the Division of Social Sciences, I had the honor of signing Freddie Solomon's application for his degree at the University of Tampa. He was a good student and an outstanding individual. He is an example of what a young man from humble background can achieve if given a chance to demonstrate his many fine qualities. I was always very pleased with his accomplishments which came because of his hard work and dedication.

I had the privilege and honor of becoming friends with Freddie when I was a senior at Chamberlain High, and would train with him during the summers before he went off to training camp and I left for college two-a-days. The impact this great man had on me stretched far beyond football. Freddie believed in me, and taught me how to believe in myself. I am forever grateful. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family. RIP Freddie, God Bless.
