I am so sad to learn Freddie passed away....he used to kiddingly pull my hair in high school as I had his name in calling the players names as a cheerleader. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends. God's grace.

He was a special man and a cherished friend. He was admired and beloved here in his hometown of Sumter, S.C. He leaves many memories from his days as a football star, but the best memories are of his friendship. We knew his days were numbered yet the reality of losing him is painful. He was a champion, not just in football but in the game of life.

Deepest sympathies to Dee and Freddie's family.

Mr. Solomon,
Always a smile, I remember calling you Mr. Solomon and you would respond "Freddie please". You are the most sweetest kindest man a person could ever meet. Always helping someone else. You will be missed by all that knew you. Rest in peace. I know you are an angel now, you were always someone's angel on Earth!!!!

Just a terrific person. And if you were lucky enough to see him play as a Spartan, you witnessed athletic greatness. At Angelo Dundee's memorial service he was rightly called a 'sweet man.' Freddie was another.

This world was a better place with Freddie in it. My dad always kept Freddie close to his heart. My thoughts and prayers are with Deliliah and the family.
