Thinking about my dear friend and brother "The Fabulous One" Freddie Solomon. To Delilah, Sugar, Freddie's mom Mrs Solomon, his brothers, and the Robinson Family... my heartfelt condolences during this sad and most difficult time. Dee, You know how I felt about Freddie. He was not just a friend, he was "Family". We met in late June of 1971 and were friends for over 40 years. I guess you can say that we "grew up together." I had hoped that after he retired from pro football that we would spend more time together, like learning the back 9 at Avila Golf Course or something like that. But Freddie jumped with both feet into his new "life" as a Liaison between the Sheriff's Dept. and the Community. As Freddie would say, "There is work to be done." I know that he touched thousands of young peoples' lives and even got many to "pull their pants up and become accountable for their actions." On the "playing fields of sports and the playing field of life", Freddie Solomon was a CHAMPION. Freddie Solomon also had a GOOD NAME. "Blessed is the person who lives with a good name and departs this world with a good name Of such a person did the Bible say: "A good name is to be treasured above precious oil. Conferring honor on family and friends, inspiring and challenging those who carry on. The righteous need no monuments; thier good deeds are their memorials. The kindness they have shown, the love they have given, remain in everlasting remembrance. The earth of the grave does not cover them; the hand of time does not erase them. Their achievements are more lasting than granite, their devotion is an enduring legacy." Freddie, You lived a great life and fought a courageous fight; now Rest in Peace my brother. We love you....Bruce aka "Earl", Milton aka "Yucky Dog", and Jacquelyn aka "Princess"(Freddie has nicknames for everyone) and the rest of the Rosen Family
