My life is far better because Glen has been part of it. Glen is my best friend, and the most genuine man I know. I cherish his counsel, his friendship, and all the great times we shared. I will miss him greatly. Thank you Sandra for sharing Glen, and your family, with me and my family.

Glen Cross was without question the finest man I've ever had the honor of being associated with. In my early days at Heidt and Associates, Art and Buddy granted me the opportunity to work with Glen on many projects including Northdale and Lake Magnolia Estates. In the years that followed I became Glen's engineer. I can't imagine a higher honor. We worked together on dozens of projects including Fish Hawk Ranch, Lake St. Charles, and Bloomingdale. During a lunch together a couple of years ago, we estimated that we had developed between 10,000-15,000 lots in our association.
Glen would come in every January and let us know what he needed us to accomplish that year. He would tell us the number of lots he wanted permitted and constructed in each of his projects. Other than a few phone calls and a meeting or two, we would do whatever it took to fulfill his needs. Glen was well known and loved by all off our employees (200 plus). There was no way we were going to let him down. To the best of my knowledge, we never had a signed contract with Glen. We didn't need one. Glen's word was stronger than any contract that could ever be written.
I will never forget the night Glen introduced me to Sandy at a Builder's Association meeting in downtown Tampa. He had a smile on his face a mile wide. He had found his true love. I've never known a man who was more in love than Glen was with Sandy. I remember being so happy for him. God's gift.
We had the joy of taking our families on a cruise together years ago. Glen Cross with his hair down was as enjoyable as it gets. We had an absolute blast. My son who was 12 at the time still asks me about that wonderful man we traveled with.
Glen was a true friend. Every time you were with him he would make you feel like he was your best friend. Glen had hundreds of best friends. He taught me the meaning of honesty, integrity, and commitment. He was always willing to give of himself for the ones he believed in and cared about. You never had to ask Glen. The answer was, “Do the right thing.” Anything he put his name on was going to be done first class. It was just understood.
When I first heard of Glen's passing I thought of Sandy and the family. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to them. I then realized how many of Glen's friends and associates, along with the Tampa community, have lost such an important part of our lives. But, we know that we will all be better for the time we spent with Glen Cross.
I think Glen would have said to us all, “I love you. Now, get back in the race.”

I got to know Glenn through taking care of his a/c. Our conversation would always revolve more about cars then his a/c needs. He was a very passionate man. I could tell Glenn enjoyed life. Glenn will be missed. From everyone at Marlin James, Our thoughts are with his family and friends as they go through this difficult time.
