To Mickey and the family: Peter and I will miss the opportunity to honor Don's memory this Sunday, as we're out of town. However, you will be in our prayers for comfort. I first knew him through his support of Lutheran Ministries, now LSF, and Bay Area Legal Services, and remember not only his generosity, but his loyalty and humor. We have enjoyed the few times in his company in recent years and feel honored to have known him. His life was certainly enriched by you, Mickey. Faith Dunne
Mickey and family. We were very saddened to learn of Don's passing. I knew him as a gracious and caring man that I'll always remember and admire. At this difficult time lean on your faith in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior, God's blessings to all of you.
Mickey, Karen, Kathy, and Frank: Your father, husband, was a dear friend whom I will not forget. We enjoyed the Theater together and having fun. I will miss him. Sincerely, Jeanne
Many years have passed since Don & I were in Seminole Elementary School together and on through years of meeting occasionally and through this last year's Christmas letter he never changed from being an upright honest loyal person. May his family always know how exceptional their father was. It is a loss to us all that he is gone.
Judge Castor was one of my father's best friends in High School and beyond, and became a friend and mentor to me on the Boys' and Girls' Club board. What a nice man, of sterling character;a rare trait these days, indeed.
My heartfelt prayers go out to the families. Don will be missed. He was such a caring, compassionate man and was a role model for many. I will always cherish the memories of my conversations with Don. He was a philanthropist and always wanting to help the less fortunate.
Don was my mentor and friend. We had lively, intelligent conversations about many subjects, for years.........I will miss just knowing that he was always there and thought provoking. Prayers to his loving family.
I will miss knowing he's around. I had a great foundness for Judge Don Castor. He was for all things right and good.
KATHY AND FAMILY:
We never knew the Judge but we feel he left a legacy when he produced a Congresswoman. Our hearts go out to you all.
Our sincere heartfelt sympathy and prayer's are for Judge Castor's dear family, friends, co-worker's and church family that loved him. I worked with the court system for almost thirty years and knew an cared deeply for Judge Castor. He was fair, honest and caring. Also, a man of faith that really cared for the people that came before him in court.
The halls of the courthouse will not be same without him. Rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.
Judge Don Castor was a very sincere man. He will be missed by many friends. God Bless His Memory.
When I was fresh from law school my very first court appearance was in Judge Castor's court. I will never forget his grace and patience as I stumbled through some minor matter. In time, we became friends, and when he learned that our birthdays were close together he began a years-long tradition of inviting me for an annual birthday lunch at the Colonnade Restaurant. He was a warm, kind and witty man who viewed the world through fresh eyes every day. He will be hugely missed. His family has my deepest condolences. Rest in peace, Your Honor.
