My condolences to your family for the loss of someone so dearly loved. Keeping in mind the scriptural thought at John 6:40 will help sustain you during this intense time of sorrow.
Didn't know Doug but doing the job he had says it all. From one crossing guard to another he had a good heart. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
Dear Carey Family, We are so sorry for your loss. This really hits home for the neighbors on the street. We will continue to pray for peace. Please know how many people feel your pain. God Bless.
Doug... You were a great guy and father... I remember when Brian and I used to work together and you would always stop us in the hallway at work (MPH) and in a firm but polite voice... YOU BOYS BEHAVING! Always watching out for us as well as other people...
Brian I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I'm thinking of you and I'll be praying for you and your family. RIP Mr. Carey
While I did not know Mr. Carey, I have come to know him through reading about him following his untimely and tragic death. That intersection of Belcher and Gulf to Bay should be re-named "Carey's Corner" in his honor.
Blessings to family and friends.
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy to the Carey family. Doug was a wonderful guy and will truly be missed by many. Heaven has welcomed a great addition.

Dave and I worked with you at Morton Plant Hospital and we thank you for your friendship. You visited us in labor and delivery after Kaelyn was born and we will never forget that. We will miss seeing you on our way to take Kaelyn to preschool every day. We loved to see your smile and get to wave to you. We thank you for your years of service to this community and we thank your family for sharing you with us! You are missed!
To Jeanne, Toni, Brian and family, I am saddened beyond words. May God be with you all in this time of profound sadness. Bill Keen; ex neighbor and MPH veteran
To the family and community of a fellow crossing guard, you must know that he loved the kids and was dedicated as he went to work everyday, putting his life on the line to save the children. You must be proud of what he stood for in life and the community. We, the school crossing guards of Osceola County send blessings to "his kids".
It is with great sadness to hear of the loss of our long time friend. Our memories of growing up together will remain. You will be missed!
