February 13, 2011
It was with great sadness to have heard of the loss of such brave and courageous officers. My wife and I were travelling in the Holiday area last week when we got the news. Being a police communications/911 operator here in Canada for almost 36 years, I realize that there are no boundaries when fellow peace officers fall in such a heartless fashion. Our hearts stretches out to both families, partners and co-workers of those officers. Be strong and may God be with you all in this time of sorrow.
February 11, 2011

January 31, 2011
Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers. Although we never met, I live in your community, and my 5 year old would be so excited to see "his K9 officer". I've walked by your home hundreds of times, and always noted Officer Yaslowitz's vehicle and was so proud that he was part of our neighborhood. My deepest sympathy to your family. My heart just aches for you all. I know your faith will carry you all through this difficult time.

My condolences go out to the family of Officer Yaslowitz. Especially to his father, Harvey, with whom I have worked with at Beechwood Data Systems in Clark, NJ. I am so sorry for your loss.
January 30, 2011
Jeff,

You have "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

You will always be remembered as a kind and gentle brother in Christ and friend.

When we all get to heaven, what a glorious day that would be. See ya, then.
January 30, 2011
to the Yaslowitz family:

Please accept our deepest condolences for your tragic loss.
May each of you feel the loving presence of the Spirit of the Lord embracing your brokenness of hearts. May the brush of angel wings bring peace and comfort in the stillness of your moments. May you treasure the precious memories together. May God sustain and surround blessings of strength and faith to carry you through this valley of void and fill you with oil of joy and the power of peace.
Scripture says in Paul's letter of epistle in 2Corin. 5:7-"We live by faith, not by sight." "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
With that, we know, Jeff was a devout Christian soldier knowing exactly how he was going to serve the Lord until it was his calling to go home. Mrs. Yaslowitz, as you have stated, "this was his destiny".
Keep on fighting the good fight of faith and keep on keeping on.

Please read Romans 8:28. God bless each and everyone of you.
January 30, 2011

An Officer's Welcome

"Peter, you must prepare two high thrown seats. This day we will welcome an officer and a Sgt. into Heaven. Their absence will be felt by many on earth but their presence before me, their Lord, will be their reward."

"Lord, K-2 officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz and Sgt. Tom Batinger have copleted their missions on earth and have arrived."

"Well done my good and faithful servants. Welcome to paradise."

Rest in peace, Brother. From a retired K-9 Sgt.
January 28, 2011
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Lean on the comfort of the Lord's love as you all mourn in your own way. Hold on to the memories which will make you smile, laugh, cry and at times make you angry, but it's alright. It's all part of the healing process that will help you get through each day.

Since the day of this horrific tragedy, I've been thinking about these 2 brave officers, their families and friends and all of the St Pete Police Dept and my heart just aches. Rest in peace, brother in blue.
January 27, 2011
I knew Jeff at Northside Christian High School. We played athletics together. What I remember about Jeff was his quiet sense of humor and kindness. I was a couple year younger than him, but he always befriended me, as he did everyone. He even went out of his way to stay in touch with me after he went to college. He was fondly known as "Yaz" then, just as he is today. He was also one tough kid. On the football team, he was smaller than most, but would not back down from anyone bigger than him. I had the utmost respect for him.

May God bless his family and children.
January 27, 2011

Im a widow also, please make sure the wife of yaslowitz and Officer Baitinger gets this please.
Im writing this for the wife, ddaughter, mother, sister, lover of a Fallen Police officer, dad, husband, brother and son. Im deeply sadenned for your loss. I can only say that pull those family members in and let them keep you emotionally and physically and mentally safe. for at least 2 months they were a big support for me. A big one is the closest friends you have that will support you and will always have your back. These days will be hard and with grief counseling slowly healing your heart. It will hurt, and you will think your gonna have a heart attack. The children will need stability now and will need someone that kind of understand and can only tell you the stories of what I or someone else tell you and suggest what they think or what they did. I can only tell you the stories of what I have had. The big one is where do you see your life in 5 years or 10. I dont know about you, but Paul was my true soul mate and there will never be another one like him either. I must go on for my family and Paul would want me happy. My husband was like yours he served his community too. He was ordained minister to a living retirment home. He did this for 6 years for not a red penny. Thats okay he is reaping his reward now in heaven. My boys were 9 Nathan, 14 Zach at the time. Its been 2 1/2 years since he been gone and today is his birthday. Its one of those I just wanted to sleep thru. I want to extend myself if you want or need to. Im here even when its 2am, 4am or 6am or after. Im here is you need me. I would never turn you away. I can he here emotionally, mentally if needed. If you want to call me we dont have to meet. I will be here to lend a ear to help bring us thru this together and stay positive for each other and the kids. Because we all need each other.
Mary Ann

I worked with Jeff at Integrated Health Services and at that time we lost a friend that had jumped off the Skyway. The night before he jumped he had tried calling Jeff and Jeff did not get his call. Jeff just felt awful. He could not stop thinking about what if I would of been able to talk to him. I might of prevented this. Jeff is a very kind man and will truly be MISSED. I hope this story I shared helps people understand more just what kind of MAN he was.. My prayers go out to his wife and kids.

I was acquainted with Jeffrey Yaslowicz. During my years working at the Salvation Army Shelter, he frequently responded to calls from the shelter. Fortunately, most of the issue we needed him for were petty matters that left us all smiling. He had I had a number of enoyable conversations, and we sometimes caught sight of each other when I was out and about in the downtown area.
He smiled easily and had a a casual and pleasant personality. My deepest sympathy goes to those near and dear to him. I'm sure he made them smile often and would want them to keep smiling. I will continue to do so when I think of him.

January 25, 2011
My prayers go out to K-9 Officer Yaslowitz, his family and friends. I might share with you some words which have sustained me through long dark nights of peril, loss and heartache and I quote; "I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom." Abraham Lincoln

My thoughts and prayers to Officer Yaslowitz's family.
January 25, 2011
Lorraine--my thoughts and Prayers are with you, your children and the entire family. I remember how proud and excited you were when Jeff had determined what his "calling" was. As your is to teaching... And you both are the kind of parents every child wishes for. Your children will forever be PROUD of their Daddy. He has gone to The Next Place. God will Protect him and Angels will keep him safe. He is gone in body only...his Spirit and heart are forever with you and your children. You all will be reunited someday in...The Next Place. My heart aches for your loss and I can only imagine what it was like for you to receive word at work. I'm sure you handled yourself with poise, grace and dignity in the presence of your students...of course I am certain you were not actually told in their presence. I am certain you knew "something was amiss." You are sensitive that way. There simply are no words, none adequate anyway. God Protect you all and Angels Keep you safe. Let the amazing Love that Jeff and you have for one another sustain you and your beautiful children.

With heartfelt Sincerety, Respect, Love and Hugs--
~Sara Bradford (fka Tolman)~

Jeff Yaslowitz was the husband of my two son's kindergarten teacher. I am in shock that this happened to such good people. I have never met a more down to earth, caring, sweet person. Let alone a teacher. Lorraine is more then a teacher too. After school was out we were all invited to a pool party at her house. It was just built and she was so excited. I have so many pictures. I didn't get too know Jeff but I know he was one of the good ones. We are praying with you all and we love you Mrs. Yaslowitz. Damian, Dayton and Nissa Southall (and family)
