RIP Joe. I wish I would've taken advantage of the opportunity to pick your brain the few times we talked. Condolences to Michael.
I will miss you JOE, and your incredible stories, talent , and overall amazingness.
I'm sure going to miss ya, Joe. Loads of laughs at gigs and the Clearwater Jazz Holiday. The voice of Ybor and always fun to hang with. What a privilege to know you. Love and Peace.
Joe was an tremendous musical influence for me as a young musician in Miami. I would attend every Blues Image show that I could focusing my attention on his amazing percussion technique. Thank you Joe, I never forgot.
Joe and I were childhood friends. I have fond memories of our Elemetary school recitals in which he performed; kids' birthday parties and on through highschool. He was born to entertain and very sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family.
We will miss a great native musician one of Tampa's own. An Ybor City boy who hit the big time but never forgot the small things like devil crabs. I was proud to know and work with him. Rest in peace my friend. The whole world will be singing la la la la la la la.
A brilliant musician, fine actor and great roommate our year on the road together. RIP my friend.
Heartfelt sympathy to your family. You will be missed by all.
My deepest thoughts and prayers are extended to all the family- May Peace be with you during and thru this time of great loss.
I hope Joe and my mom are having a party some where ...she absolutely loved Joe , as did we all . He was one of the funniest people ever ; and one of the sweetest. He was one of my brothers , and had that rare ability of turning a crisis into a comedy.
We go back a long way. You made us proud, not only because of your rare talent, but to your devotion in caring for your Mom. Will miss you, but Heaven will Rock.
Only met you a few times, I know that our mothers work together for many years, when Tampa had some retail stores downtown. Your devotion to your mother was more than admiral. God has already blessed you for this kindness. You are in her presence.
Dominick J. Ginex
You were my favorite brother-in-law. We will all miss you.
Tampa has lost one of it's greatest citizens. God bless you Joe, we know you are now in the Heavenly Band and still making music. We will miss you.
May you be welcomed through the gates my friend.....
As a true thrasher I appreciated Joe's talent, but I most admired him for taking care of his mother, which shows such character. Also, for having long-winded conversations with my boy about his acting/singing, which has greatly inspired my boy. Thanks Joe for your legend left in all of us. You were a good neighbor and man. You are loved by all who knew you. Hope this message reaches you in heaven, but not while you are jamming with our Father. God bless you always.
Ana and Jormani
Didn't know the man, but knew his music well, especially, "It Doesn't Matter"! His percussion made the song and has been in my head since I first heard it! RIP, you will be missed!
Joe, you will always be remembered. When you were at Jefferson High School, you would come to my home just about every night with Larry Priede and of course bring your drum sticks. You would use the porch railing, chairs or anything you could bang your drum sticks on.
May peace be with you Joe.
Joe was very proud of his accomplishments in life. He was a sweet and caring man with a sensational sense of humor. It was a privilege to know him.

To the most amazing inspiration of my life with the personality and sense of humor to make anyone laugh for days. I feel very blessed to be able to sing with this icon as well as get to know his huge heart and understand the love and compassion he has for people and music. My heart breaks that this amazing man has gone..He will always rule in my music world.
I was a musician in S. FL back in the late '60s and early '70s when Joe was with Blues Image. I got to see him perform many, many times with them. I never knew him personally but was friend s with his BI bandmate, Mike Pinera. Joe never ceased to amaze and inspire me with his incredible talent and beautiful spirit. I still find it hard to believe he has left us. RIP, Joe, your music, your personality and your goodness will always dwell in our hearts.
