Jonathan, thinking of you especially at this time of year. Your service and the ultimate sacrifice you made will never be forgotten. You are truly a hero! Your family is in my thoughts and prayers always. God bless you!
Not sure what to say Jonathan, as I have been coming to this book every year now for the past 6 years. We all continue to miss you and wish you were here. I am so proud of the man you became and I watch it every day when I look at my own son and watch him live your dream. Please watch over him and keep him safe.
Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.
Love Aunt Janice
I can't believe this is the 6th yr anniversary of your passing. Time continues to stand still, and I am still grieving and probably will for the rest of my days. I look at your pictures EVERY day, and think about the times we had together. The 4th of July holidays are supposed to be a joyous time, celebrating this country's freedom, but for me it has a whole new meaning. I MISS YOU SO MUCH AND NOT A DAY GOES BY WHERE I DON'T THINK OF AND TALK ABOUT YOU. You are forever in my heart, my mind and my soul. I LOVE YOU
Thank You, God Bless You, Your In our hearts forever, although I only knew your father and brother you have a place in my heart thank you Jonathan.
Big family party for Olivia this weekend, Jonathan, that is when your presences is missed the most, although we feel it every day. We continue to be proud of the ultimate sacrifice you gave and your committment to the mission. Thank you for trying to help make the world a better, safer place.
Aunt Janice, Uncle Joe, Nicholas and Olivia
When you were assigned to 1st platoon with a bunch of tankers you probably would have preferred to stay with your infantry unit, but you never indicated anything less than full commitment, giving 110% every day. NCOs like SGT Supeck are among the finest in the Army and Johnathan couldn't have asked for a better SGT as a mentor and advocate. I was not present on July 1st but wish I could have been. I was at home on leave, my absence that day has never sat well with me. Johnathan, I'll never forget your contributions to 1st Platoon and your sacrifice.
I still remember teaching you how to ride your motorcycle before we left down range, I will never forget the joy you would give my son when you played with him, till this day I still carry your ID tag with me it has taken a long time for me to do this but it is time love you and miss you, me and my family will always remember you, you were my best soldier that is why I rode you so much! You and your family will always be in my heart. SSG. Sanchez
I was behind a car today that paid tribute to Jonathan. It's Election Day and the painful cost of a brother, son, and friend for this country is immeasurable. Thank you, dearly, for your service.
I just completed Tampa's Run for the Fallen, and Jonathan was the soldier assigned to me randomly to run for. I am honored to be able to remember him today for what he has done for our country. I ran today for those who fell for us!
July 1, 2012
To the family and friends of Pfc. Jonathan M. Rossi:
Always remembering Jonathan. "Some gave all."
God Bless our Troops!
We remember that awful day when we learned of your death. How incredibly sad we all were...for not only your loss but your Dad and brothers' grief. So much has happened in our family since you left us, we only wish you were here to experience it all. Thank you for your dedication to the mission and your willingness to do what so many will not or cannot. Thanks, too, to all our troops both gone and yet to come home.
We love you and think of you daily.
Aunt Janice, Uncle Joe, Nicholas and Olivia.
I learned about your son this evening as I reviewed an article in the TAMPA BAY TIMES, "Tampa Bay Troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan".
"Your son's blue star turned gold, July 1, 2007. Jonathan answered the service call, his sacrifice was made for all....his gold star is symbolic of a Patriot's honor and a Nation's love. Now, we left behind proudly wear that star of Gold."
Don't you dare be sorry for something that was beyond your control! The enemy got Jonathan, don't let them get into your head and get you too. We, his family, will be forever grateful that he had such good friends while over there.
Stand proud and be proud that you were such a good friend to him. We salute you for that.
Aunt Danette Rossi Taylor
to Sgt.Supeck....you have nothing to be sorry for young man, you fought bravely for our country and that is all we can ask. Please don't carry this burden any longer. You and Jonathan both protected each other as best you could, but some things are out of your control. I will not offer you forgiveness as there is nothing to forgive. I WILL offer you my thanks, love and prayers for your healing. If it helps you, know this...my son has entered Virginia Military Institute in hopes of following his cousin's footsteps to secure our nation and serve his country...He had the date of Jonathan's death tattooed on his back as reminder of his sacrifice. THIS is also Jonathan's legacy. I know I can speak for our family when I say "thank you" for all you did and attempted to do.
Go in peace, dear soldier, and lift the burden that only you have placed on yourself.
We can never repay you.
Janice Rossi Hassell ( his Aunt, and sister of Jonathan's dad, Michael)
Rossi you was the best saw gunner i have ever could have asked for not to mention a great soldier. To the Hicklin Family,
Thank you so much for taking the time to not only remember and honor my nephew but to let us know how you did it. We appreciate your kind words and the fact that he has NOT been forgotten.
We think of him daily and are so very proud of him.
Whenever I, once again, get saddened by his death, I read and re-read "War Is An Ugly Thing..." by John Stuart Mill. If you get the time, please look up this poem and I hope you are strenthened by it, as I am.
Thank you again for your love and support.
Janice Rossi Hassell ( sister of Jonathan's dad)
To Patty & Tim Hicklin,
You have no idea what you did for my son memory means to me and all who knew and loved him. Reading your words brought tears to my eyes. For you to do this for my son whom you never knew will never be forgotten, and I thank God for people like you who think about and support our troops. Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for remembering my son, and the sacrifices all of our young men and women are making in preservation of our freedoms.
To the Family of PFC Jonathan M Rossi,
Today there was a "Run for the Fallen" in Tampa, I walked for your son. It was an honor to walk for him and for you to know he is not forgotten. I am grateful for your son's service and your sacrifice for our freedom.
My son is in the Marines, recently graduated form Parris Island. He loved me to send him quotes in my letters to him. One of his favorites was: "ALL THAT IS NEEDED FOR EVIL TO PREVAIL IS FOR GOOD MEN TO DO NOTHING" God Bless your son, and the men and women who have chosen to do something! Jonathan M. Rossi will not be forgotten. Thank you so much
My wife ran this morning in Tampa, Florida's 'Run for the Fallen" with Jonathan Rossi's name on her back. Thank you Jonathan for your ultimate sacrifice. I take what you did very personal, you did it for me and every other American. Thank you, you will not be forgotten.
To the family of Pfc. Jonathan M. Rossi:
Jonathan gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."
"Don't Let The Memory Of Them Drift Away"
As this the 2nd anniversary of your passing, I am thinking of you and praying that you and Mom are looking down upon us and keeping us safe. I can't believe it's been two years already since I lost you. You are in my thoughts every minute of every day. I will be visiting you soon so we may talk more. I love you very very much, and miss you even more.
I came to visit you this past Memorial Day, and my tears still flow. You are the reason I now ride with the Patriot Guard Riders who ride in memory of all of our fallen soldiers. I visit with your mother (my wife) also, and I think of you both everyday. People still to this day stop me and thank me for your service and ultimate sacrifice. I talk to your brother Jason every so often, as he is busy defending our freedoms in Korea, but he tells me he thinks about you everyday, and knows you are looking down upon him, as well as all of us. I love and miss you so very much. Until I see you again.
On this memorial day, I just wanted to say thank you again for your ultimate sacrifice as the war continues on. This nation will be forever grateful for the service you and your comrades have given. We can't thank you enough! I know your mom and dad are beaming with pride! We love and miss you. Love, Uncle Phil

The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Jonathan, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Angel and soldier drawing I have shared here.
You are remembered and respected. Thank you Pfc Rossi!
Thank you for the gift of your life for our country. You are in my prayers as are all service men.
Dear Jonathan, I have, thus far, avoided this message, because the idea of never seeing you or talking to again is just painful. I remember so many things about your life, your mom, your dad (my brother), Jason, Jordan, Mikayla, etc. But most fondest memory is when you and Jason spent the week with Uncle Jessee and I and we played "Spades" on my deck, (you cheater) but we won anyway..., bowling at the Rossi Chirstmas week, throwing ball with you and Jason during the week I was in FL. during your mom's death... dude... I don't know what else to say, only that I think about you everyday, cuz I have your pic as my desktop backround on my work pc... I love you and will never ever let you forget me.... I hope you are taking care of your mom up there, like I needed to say that? God bless you...
Man, I don't think a day goes by that I don't think about you and all that has happened. I try to call your dad every so often to make sure he's hanging in there. You were the world to him along with Jason, Jordan, Mikayla and your stepsiblings. I'm still crushed as this war continues and our nation struggles to put it all in perspective. I know Jason and Matt are honoring your with their service and you should be proud of them as I know they looked up to you as a leader and brother. I will visit you and your mom's site soon and we can talk more then. Love you , Uncle Phil
I love you big brother. Ill be heading off to Iraq soon... I know youll keep me safe. Say hey to mom for me.
"Lost but NEVER forgotten"-Everyone
Even though some time has passed, I still cannot believe what has happened. I went to elementary school with Jonathan and still think of him often after hearing the news.
I cannot even begin to spit out any words that would help in any way.
Jonathan is a hero.
God bless you and continue to be with you always.
Sister of three Marines, and daughter of an Air Force/EOD man.
As our nation pauses to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, I stop to remember and give thanks to God for the incredible sacrifice that Jonathan made for his country and for our freedom. It was my honor to have concelebrated his funeral Mass, and to have known both his father and mother (Myrna) while I was stationed at MacDill AFB. That young boy grew up to be a fine man, a brave soldier, and now a fallen hero. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. PFC Rossi, we will be forever in debt to you and your comrades-in-arms for the sacrifices you have made. Rest in peace...
Thank you for the sacrifice made by Pfc Rossi and the sacrifice made by everyone who loves and misses him! May God bless all of you!!
Sincere sympathy and love, Pat - R.N.
I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Jon...I still think about you everyday. Your youthful face, your enthusiasm for life. Losing you from this family is a sacrifice that seems far too great to bear. I'm comforted by visions of you and your mom, Myrna, together somewhere peaceful and serene. We will all join you there someday. Rest in peace, sweet soul.
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one on behalf of myself and a greatful nation. He has given the ulitmate sacrifice. May he rest in peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time~ Thank you for his life, his sacrifice and his willingness to serve his country.
I lost my grandson this past month also, so do know your pain. May God be with you
Mike Rossi and Family,
I just couldn't beleive what I was seeing when I saw the news. I took care of Jonathan and Jason as 3 and 4 yr olds @ MacDill afb Day Care Center and watched them grow to a degree. I lost contact with the Family after Myrna passed away but often wondered where everyone was at. My heart goes out to you all. I know that Jonathan was a great person and he served his country very well.
I was so sad when I heard the news.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Jonathan's family and friends.
Although I never knew him - I will always remember that he was brave and touched the lives of many.
My sympathies to the family. While I did not know Jonathan, I do know his younger sisters as I was one of their teachers.
We are deeply saddened at the loss of this brave young soldier, a hero. May God embrace and comfort you as only He can. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
In loving memory of our nephew

I just finished reading the on-line article written in the Clearwater Citizen regarding Jonathan and saw that today is the Memorial Service. For those of you who love Jonathan, I pray that the memories you hold dear will cover you like a blanket on this difficult day and the days and years ahead.
God Bless and Keep you in His loving Hands.
I am so saddened by the loss of your son. No words can ever express the depth of the sacrifice he has made to the USA. He is a hero that will be remembered by all.
With all my heart,
To the Rossi Family,
My Husband is SGT Supeck and was with Pfc Rossi in Iraq. He talked about him alot when he called me and he was glad to have meet him and to have been able to get to know him.
SGT Supeck realy miss him.
I attended high school with Jonathan and three of his siblings, two of whom are my age. I wish I had known Jonathan better. I was just checking out his myspace page, and in a survey, when asked how he wanted to die, his response was "in the field." Serving our country was his pride and joy. Although I didn't know him well, I am proud to have known him at all. It is comforting to know that someone so dedicated was protecting our freedom, and will continue to do so from Heaven. The Rossi/Reif family will remain steadfast in my thoughts and prayers.
We are so saddened for the loss of your son, we have a son inlisted in the Marine Corp and can only imagine what you must be feeling and going through. My prayer is that you all feel the arms of God and know that many people care about what you are going through and that your son will live on in the memory of thousands.
May God Bless you and your Family in your time of need.
My deepest sympathy to the Rossi Family. I am very proud of all our servicemen & women for all their sacrifices. I can only imagine the pain that you are going through. Please know that we are keeping you in our prayers.
Our hearts break for you. We have never met, but are good friends with your brother Phil and his family. We are a Navy family, and every death in Iraq feels like one of our own. Our prayers are with you.
To Dan and Joan Rossi and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I mourn with you at the loss of your loved one, Jonathan. May God be with you to help you through this trying time.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS. PLEASE ACCEPT MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES FOR YOUR GREAT LOSS. KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT HERE WHO DO CARE AND YOUR HERO WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN....HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR TREASURED MEMORIES THAT HIS SPECIAL SMILE MAY CONTINUE TO SHINE ON. I PRAY THAT PEACE WILL FIND YOU ALL SOMEDAY. GODSPEED AND SEMPER FI.
A PROUD MARINE MOM
To Jonathan's family and friends,
My son Brian (a navy veteran)and I were both honored to "stand" for PFC Rossi and to walk behind you at Bushnell on Wednesday. We are free because of Jonathan and the others before him who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. My husband did two tours in Nam and my godson (a Marine) lost his sight in Baghdad in 2005. We know the cost and we thank you and Jonathan.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Go With God PFC Rossi, you've done your job and have giving the ultimate sacrifice. SSG Cox
Your family will be in our prayers. We also have a fallen soldier. Ronnie Ginther, 2004. It is still like a dream that goes on and on. But, we are proud of our son and your son for being the bravest of all.
Dear Rossi Family,
Your son protected me and my family and this country. He made the ultimate sacrifice and he will always be in my prayers.
As your next door neighbor we have kept you in our prayers ever since you became one of the brave heros of our country serving in the military.
We will continue to keep your family in our prayers now that you have gone to your final honored rest.
Please accept our sincere and heartfelt remorse over the death of your son. He has made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and will long be remembered in our thoughts and prayers. May God give you and all those touched by his life peace and understanding with the knowledge that someday we will meet this true american hero.
Thank you for your unselfish devotion to the citizens of the USA.
TIMES OF WAR ARE HARD,AND TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOM THESE YOUNG MEN,AND WOMEN MUST SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES FOR US. GOD BLESS.
May the peace of the Lord be with all the Rossi family. It was so very sad to learn about your son's death.
Jonathan, you must have had such a gift of courage to serve your country as you have given your very life for us.Our family does not know you and yours but our hearts break for you and your family. Rest in peace, Jonathan.
My condolences go out to the family. I only met Jon in passing at Countryside High School were I am an administrator. I know his brother Jason a little better. Jon's decision to serve his country was a testimony to his courage and love for this country. My prayers are with the family
My prayers are for your family as you go through the grieving of your son's death...he's a hero to us all. Take pride in what he was doing, the cause he was fighting for,the brothers he fought along side of and the fact that he was doing a job not many would have to guts to do. We're proud of him and honor him.
Dearest Rossi Family, I can't express how deeply sorry I am to hear about the loss of Jonathan. I can't imagine this loss and my thoughts and prayers are with your whole family. We appreciate Jonathan dedication and service to our country, it will not be forgotten. Jonathan and his mother are watching over you all from heaven.
May God Bless and keep you in this time of sorrow. Your son is now an angel protecting from above. He is truly a HERO! Remember a person is never truly gone as long as they are held in your heart.
In addition to being a dedicated soldier, Jonathan was a dedicated Jiu-Jitsu fighter. I would like to take a moment to extend the sympathy of the entire Tampa Gracie Jiu-Jitsu association. He was a great kid and a friend to all of us. He will be missed by all of us.
May God always cradle you Jonathan.
May God bless the Rossi family at their time of great sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jonathan Rossi and his family. Although we did not know this brave soldier our hearts break for this tremendous loss. My entire family will be eternally grateful for Pfc. Rossi's courageous service and sacrifice. May God also give strength and comfort to his family and many friends.
To the Rossi Family,
I am not too good with writing regarding sympathy. So please excuse it. I didn't really know Jon too well but what I do remember was a very nice, respectable young man. He was not just a hero to you or to me but to our country. And I thank you for having a son that is so dedicated to his country and what he believes in. I don't know what it is like to loose someone so close to you. I can only imagine. If there is anything I can do please let me know. I live right around the corner.
--As for Liz I am very sorry you lost the one that you loved and wanted to be with for the rest of your life. Everytime I would look at you and saw your pain I thought to myself, is that what I would be like if I lost my significant other? I am so thankful that my love didn't go. I don't know what I would do if I lost him. All I can say is just keep your head up and think positive. Life is not over not ever. If you need anything please let me know as well.
Deepest sympathy, Nicole Curl
I did not know PFC Rossi, but I am truly sorry for the family. Please know that as an American, I am truly grateful to young men like him who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. In your time of sorrow remember his smile and hear his laughter. God Bless you all.
You are a true hero. Thank you for protecting Our Country! May You Rest In Peace.
WHILE WE DON'T PERSONALLY KNOW JONATHAN OR HIS FAMILY, MY FAMILY KNOWS THE PAIN OF LOSING A LOVED ONE TO WAR. MY UNCLE WAS KILLED IN WWII IN GERMANY. HE WAS 21 YEARS OLD AND LEFT BEHIND A WIFE AND 2 YR OLD SON MAY GOD COMFORT YOU.COMFORT YOU!

I wish to extend my sincerest condolences to your family, and to the friends of Jonathon. Your son has made the ultimate sacrifice for his country and for us all. Tomorrow he will be laid to rest in Bushnell, one year to the day our son was buried there. Our son Bryan was killed in Mosul, Iraq on June 29, 2006. It has been an incredibly rough and long year.
I just want you to know how proud we are of your son Jonathan. He was truly a courageous young man, a real American hero. If not for those, such as your son, we would not have the blessings and freedoms that we enjoy. Know this, many people that you don't even know are, and will be praying for you all. Give thanks to GOD everyday for the time that you were given with him. He will never be forgotten, and will live in our hearts forever. May GOD comfort you.

Remembrance oft shall bring thee near, and I will with thee go forever. And oft at midnight's silent hour, when brilliant planets shall guide the ocean, thy name, Jonathan, shall rise to heaven's highest star and mingle with the soul's devotion."
Peace be with you, Jonathan.

Jonathan, and Rossi Family,
You are going to be very well missed. It had been a very long time that we had spoken to each other and I regret it now that I will never be able to say hello to you again. I was in pure shock when I heard the news siting on the couch with my 5 month old son watching the war report. I am honored to have known you and, indepted to you, and your family for keeping this country a free nation. I think back to the days when you would ride to and from school with me and to see where I am now married and running a buisness, and where you where going in making a great HERO of yourself, I would have never thought it. You will be in the prayers of myself and my wife, and I will be sure to tell my son of you, and the great sacrafice you and your family mad to keep this Country the greatest Nation. May god bless you and your Family.

To: The Family of Joathan. He is a true hero in our hearts and minds. Greater Love has no man than to lay down his life for his friends.
To Jonathan's family:
I understand the grief you are feeling. Please know that many families, especially military ones, are here to support you as you work your way through this tragedy.
Try to remember Jonathan as the child you watched grow up, exchange the stories, and talk about him. That makes the grief easier to bear and helps families remember him as he was.
We went through this with our son Augie who died near Haditha 8/5/05. His spirit is still with us.
I pray the peace that surpasses all human understanding be yours at this difficult, difficult time. Please be comforted in knowing that you will see Jonathan again........in heaven.
With deepest sympathy
My thoughts and prayers to the family of Jonathan Rossi for their overwhelming grief anguish and loss for having paid so costly a sacrifice.
He will be remembered for his honor, courage, and the love and joy he gave his family which include his Military brothers.
To the family and loved ones of Jonathan: We are praying that the wonderful moments and memories of your Jonathan will sustain you in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. Blessings to all that have been left behind and may the memory of him also make you smile and assist you all with your grief, as you remember Jonathan's life. My most sincere condolences to you all.
To the family of Jonathan Rossi, I am the Mom of a Marine who served also in Iraq. Your son will never be forgotten. He gave his life so that others might live in freedom. May God's comfort in this difficult time serve to sustain you, may you receive the love and support of others and know that you are prayed for daily. God Bless You all.
Semper Fi, Barbara Mueller,
To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

To the family of Jonathan, my grief for the loss of your son is felt. I know what it's like to loose your child in war as my son was killed in action too. It feels that your heart has been ripped from you and you don't understand why this happened to your child. I've felt all you will feel in the coming days and weeks and though I’m not close in relation to area, but I am very close by email. I offer any support to you and your family that I can. It's with the Grace of God that I've gotten through each day and with His healing love and comfort that I've been able to once again sleep at night and not cry each day. Believe me I do know how hard it is. May God continue to heal you and your family and contact me when and if you are ever ready, even if it's to vent or cry.

We are impressed with your loss. Please, receive our deepest condolences. I still have some photos when my sister Myrna and the kids visited Nicaragua almost 11 years ago.
A big hug for all of you
I knew Jonathan Rossi but not very well. I had gone to High School with him and I graduated in the same class. When I found this out today while I was at work I was heart broken. I myself have a brother who is over seas in Iraq doing his second tour. Not many understand how it feels. I do not know how it feels to loose a loved one but I face that fear everyday of knowing that I could. I am very proud of your son for everything he has done for this country with no questions asked. I am proud of every soldier that has gone over seas and came back and for the ones that did not. I am so sorry for your lose. He was a very brave man.
Thank you, Jonathan, for your unselfish gift so that the rest of the world can have freedom. You and your family are in our prayers!!
dear rossi family

i hug you in my heart and i send you all my love and prayers
One cannot even imagine the trauma of losing a child. This child, Jonathan died a hero defending his country making it safer for the rest of us. How do you say thank you for his ultimate sacrifice? I see the devastation in his father Michael's eyes (Via Video) as well as his godfather (my brother Warren) and my heart breaks for everyone in his family and everyone who was a friend of his. Know that God will bless this country just a little bit more because of his bravery. My prayers and those of my family are with the entire family of this wonderful young man, Jonathan Rossi. May he rest in peace.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there... I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow...
I am the diamond glints on snow...
I am the sunlight on ripened grain...
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you waken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of gentle birds in circling flight...
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry-
I am not there... I did not die...
I looked at your picture and I saw a great hero. Your face shines with proudness and your eyes with great love.
My heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. My eternal gratitude for your unselfish gift and most of all, my love and thanks for the gift of true love you have given to my daughter, Elizabeth Behl.
You will be missed by all.

I did not meet Jonathan Rossi or you, but I would like to try to ease your pain, if it is possible with this thoughtful poem made available at this site. My thoughts are with you:
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

We don't know your family personally, but wanted to express our sympathy, and our thanks for your family and your son's sacrifice to protect us all. Our son is going into the Army next month, and we pray for all our service men and women. Hugs to you all, we will be praying for you!
Father we entrust our brother Jonathan to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Johathan in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathy.
Words cannot express how we feel for your loss.As a former Army Officer during the Vietnam War, I lost many friends and Great Americans. My only regret is that we never met your Son. He once soared with Eagles but now he has touched the face of God.John, Heather, Kelly & Corey Peacock
May GOD bless you and your family.
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND, TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS MAY THE MEMORIES OF THIS WONDERFUL SOLDIERS LIFE FILL YOUR HEARTS WITH BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES
GOD BLESS YOU
I am very sorry for your loss. He will always be a hero. I will pray for you and your family threw this hard time. sorry to hear of the loss so close to the Idependence Day.
In times of LOSS, it's often hard to imagine what could possibly be GAINed. This "lump in my throat" feeling is my way of trying to imagine what Jonathan's family might be going through right now. I may never know the loss that his family feels, but I do understand and appreciate what has been gained. For over 230 years (almost to the day...04 July), service men and women have laid their lives on the line for the freedom of The United States of America..."TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS. ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY, AND JUSTICE FOR ALL." Because of soldiers like Jonathan Rossi, I'll pledge allegiance to that Flag, any day.
I am very sorry for your loss, he is a real hero and me and my family thank him very much for what he has done and gone through!
As we embark on our Fourth of July holiday and think of the many servicemen that gave their lives in combat to defend the freedom of our lives and to help those that are less fortunate in other countries... I will remember Jonathan Rossi, your loved one, and say a prayer for all his family in their special times of need. I know that you are proud of him... and so am I. God Bless each and everyone one of you.
I am sorry for your loss. Thanks to your son for his brave service.
My family and I would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of SPC Jonathan Rossi. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all...
Pfc. John Rossi and Family:
Know in your heart that you are a true hero and will never be forgotten. All gave some, some gave all. Rest in peace. You will be missed by everyone’s life you have touched.
To the family, as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family, friends, and all Americans for the sacrifice of one of your family members for our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.
We will all remember your son who sacrificed his life for our freedom. He is a HERO. I have always supported our troops in Iraq and the cause for which they are there. May God comfort you in your great loss. Jon will always be remembered as will all the troops and families who have suffered loss and injuries.
God Bless you always.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I pray that you will someday find some peace in this young man's partiotizm, bravery and honor.
