Dr. Hollis Grady BOREN

BOREN, Dr. Hollis Grady, 90, passed away April 6, 2013 at his home. Dr. Boren was born in Dallas, TX where he graduated Woodrow Wilson High School, class of 1940. He went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University, class of 1943 and Baylor Medical School, class of 1946. After graduation, he served in the US Navy and had various appointments with the VA. He retired as Chief of Staff of the VA Medical Center in Biloxi in 1989. Dr. Boren was Dean of the College of Medicine, University of South Florida from 1973-1979 and was a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wriborg Boren. He is survived by his sons, Doug (Barbara) Boren, of Matthews, NC and Jay (Carol) Sloan, of Ozark, AL; daughters, Cindy (David) Berry, of Wesley Chapel, FL, Debbie (Triston) Mabry of Temple, TX, Dr. Lisa (Dr. Nanolla) Yazdani, of Byram and Elise Boren of Franklin, NC; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson Online guest book can be signed at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com
