Miss Connie, you touched the lives of so many. You were a GRAND and gracious lady and you will never be forgotten!! Give my Daddy a hug for me when you see him in heaven.
Precious Miss Connie. Always will think of her with fond memories. Rev. Haines and I talked a lot about life and what would be coming. When I was with her, we laughed as much as possible. I will miss her very much and know that she is still singing!! My sympathy to her family.
Connie and I go back at least 10+ years. I took voice lessons from her and learned a lot. I performed with her many times and she used to call me her 'protege' during some performances we did together. I will miss her very much. She is in my prayers, as is her family. (NOTE: My husband's uncles, Jerry Barrett, discovered her and Frank Sinatra. Jerry is mentioned in the Autobiography of Frank Sinatra, as well as, a part in a movie about Frank Sinatra". My family, Jerry Barrett (now deceased) and his wife had a wonderful lunch a few years back when he and his wife visited FL. It was so much fun listening to Connie and Uncle Jerry 'go down memory lane'. She has pictures with her, Tommy Dorsey and Jerry Barrett. (He used to manage the Tommy Dorsey Big Band). I will always remember her with great admiration with her talent and with great fondness. God Bless Her Always.
