Lee Roy Selmon

So very sorry to hear about your loss. I never met him however I met you at Midwest City Hospital where we were both employed as OR scub techs. And so vividly remember you and Lee Roy dating. My prayers that you be comforted as long as need be, because God is a comforter for as long as we need him to be. It's been about 34 years since I saw you and have often wondered how you were doing? Would love to get in touch with you at some point. Take care and know that God makes NO mistakes.

I met Lee Roy Selmon at Raymond James Stadium when he appeared as a guest speaker for Verizon. (early 2000's?) When he spoke I found myself listening intensely. He seemed to be a gentle kind person, sincere in caring about others, especially for the welfare of children. He had me thinking about my own children and at the conclusion of his talk, he was standing on the side of the room and without thinking, I took a football table decoration up to him and asked him if he would be so kind as to sign it for me. My thoughts were that my children would love it. He graciously took pen in hand and done just so. Having seen him do this, the room full of people immediately followed suit. I was overwhelmed with the thought that perhaps I caused this chain reaction. My thoughts for sometime after were that I had wished I had given him something, instead of asking something of him. My heartfelt condolences to those that knew and loved him. I pray that his family and friends will find peace.

My condolences, I remember him at a benefit for a local football player. My sons were so impressed and he was so impressive, kind and gentle with the kids. They speak of him at times and will be sorry to hear of his passing. Happy Delsigne, formerly Morrison of Coalgate, Ok

From one associate to another R.I.P Our family had the common bond of football which over the yrs and even through tragedy and my own former husbands injuries as a Pittsburgh Steeler from St Pete. I pray that the peace we as a family have recieved over that last yrs will also come to the Selmons..Leroy was the epitomy of grace decency football comraderie and friendship i miss him everyday. As a St Pete native we are blessed as a city, and I am blessed to have called Leroy a personal friend.

My family and I send our condolences in the passing of LeeRoy. He was a quest speaker about 1977 at Seminole High School football banquet. What a nice and gentle man. The Tampa Bay area has lost a tremendous leader. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers at this time. He is in the arms of Jesus but will always be with you in thoughts and memories.

Sorry for your loss. Lee Roy will really be missed. During Jesus earthly ministry he showed his power over death by bringing the dead back to human life. He provided a preview of what he will do on a grand scale in God's new system of things. (LYR)
