Well.......I met Ray Bradbury in a garage at the home of a teacher in Ventura, Ca......It was a charter meeting of the California State Poetry Society, I believe....nice man, congenial, encouraging, and, with hindsight, really, patient with our group of young poetry enthusiasts....It was one of life's true pleasures....

"By the prickling of my thumbs....something wicked this way comes."

Thank you for your stories and lessons they teach.
Blessed Be.

We have lost a great writer. I read all of Mr. Bradbury's books many times over. I was introduced and got hooked to his works by my 11th grade English teacher when he read "The Fog Horn" from the book Golden Apples from the Sun to us. My favorite book was The Illustrated Man and next The Martian Chronicles. RIP Mr. Bradbury. You left some great writings behind for us to enjoy.

Mr. Bradbury was the primary author who stoked the fires of my desire to read. An estimation of my reading suggests at least 3000 books before age 13, including everything Ray Bradbury wrote. (Ray, your books beat the daylights out of reading the phone book!)

Thank you sir, for igniting my imagination and showing me that entertainment through reading also grows our ability to vividly imagine what is possible, and to not just settle for the status quo.

Thank you for introducing me to a whole new genre' of books. You will be remembered forever.

Godspeed, Mr. Bradbury. May you find peace beyond the reach of wicked things. Your influence is a monument of creativity, and will inspire wonder, awe and terror in countless generations to come.

Reet! Reet! Feel the heat!
Rest in Peace Ray!
