I just learned of Mark's passing and was saddened and shocked. Mark was a close friend at Stetson University. I have many happy memories of spending time with Mark at the beach, on the soccer filed, and visiting him while he was at Gainesville. Though I had not been in touch with Mark for some years, one of my fondest memories was returning from a semester in Europe, to Miami Airport, virtually penniless, and calling Mark. He was not at home, but his mother answered and directed me to come to their house immediately. When I woke up later in the guest room, Mark and his brother John, whom I also knew from Stetson days, came in to greet me, warmly of course. The next day Mark made sure I was fed and sent me off with transportation fare in my pocket. I will never forget his and his family's kindness. What a gentle, kind, friendly, intelligent, dedicated and sensitive soul. I am sure he will be missed by many.
