James J. Lemme

LEADER HEIGHTS James J. Lemme, 93, husband of the late Ruby Louise (Price) Lemme, died November 23, 2014, at Country Meadows Retirement Community, Leader Heights. A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, PA. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary, with Military Rites by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Pastor Robert S. Harris and Pastor Jason Tourville will officiate. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith, Baltimore, Md. James was born January 3, 1921, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Anthony and Marie (Morlesono) Lemme. James retired in 1983 from Esskay Meat Products, Baltimore, after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was a member of the Shrewsbury Assembly of God for over 20 years. James was a former Deacon to The Body of Christ Church for 24 years and was recipient of an award on March 11, 1988, for his faithful service. He is survived by a daughter, Mary A. Newberry, Chester, Md.; two sons, James J. Hudson, Oregon and Anthony R. Lemme, Harrington, Del.; dear friends, Dorothy and Donald Hare, Shrewsbury; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lena Ciesielski, Baltimore, Md.
