Dorothy was such a sweet soul. Always had a smile on her face. I remember how she loved spending time at the barn with her horse, Mocha. She was encouraging and and inspiration. I was blessed to know her.

I live out of state and last month I had an opportunity for a great visit with Dorothy at Green Pastures. It was so good to see her smiling face and hear her joyous chatter about friends, family, and horses! Many years ago I met Dorothy while Fox Hunting with the Hillsboro Hounds. She was a bright light in anyone's day. I will miss my friend.

Dear Dorrie and Davies,

I am very sad to hear Dorothy has left us. She carried on courageously with her illness. While we saw each other only rarely after she moved to Nashville, we emailed and spoke on the phone and exchanged Christmas notes. I have known your mother since first grade. We spent many years together sharing grammar and high school, Girl Scouts, riding horses, and just enjoying each others's company. I have so many fun, and funny, memories of your mother and the things we did. I will miss my good friend. My deepest sympathy to you and your children.

Dear Dorrie and Davies, Although I had not seen Dorothy in a number of years I will miss just knowing she is there! So many very, very precious memories have come flooding back to me since receiving your sad news. I have so much to thank Dorothy for, starting back when I was only 12 or 13 and she so graciously shared Dr. Douban, the gray Arab, with me. And more recently, too, when she lent an understanding ear when I just needed someone to listen. what a special and unique gift she was to us all!

Everyone at The Picnic Cafe in Nashville was so very fond of Dorothy and Pearl. We are sending prayers to the family. Does anyone know if family members adopted Pearl? Please let us know at the Picnic. I know she loved her baby dearly and Pearl misses her mom.
