Dear Elizabeth & Family -
O my, nearly a year after Bob's moving on, we have discovered it, thanks to the miracle of Google overcoming our years of failed attempts to locate Bartons.
We have missed Lynn's moving on first and Bob's marriage to you, Elizabeth, as well. The last time "my" Bob came from Greenland & went by Barton's place in Montclair, NJ, he was able to visit with Lynn a bit, missed Bob - it was 1970.
The 2 of them and Bob & I met across the 2nd-floor hall in Bordentown Manor apartments near McGuire AFB.
Bob & Lynn's account of your Bob's home delivery of their #1 chick was hilarious - are there memorial scissors in honor of that? - enhanced by my expecting 1st chick at same time. You all know the story, of course, the OB had assured them they'd have plenty of time so no such thing would happen.

Proximity enhances good friendships. Fortunately excellent memories have survived the loss of contact following a zillion moves.
Many a time we'd hear a vacuum going across the hall, a door would open, & there was Bob working away & grinning at us.
A fine book was Lynn's & my favorite tool :)
Unfortunately my Bob was not an avid cleaner - but the menfolk enjoyed their friendship nonetheless.
"My" Bob & I are blest to have had the 2 of them as such an important part of our early married life, to have been on hand to admire their family, and to carry the good stuff with us as we all moved on (& moved & moved).
If you all gather for Memorial Day, please share a hug from us amongst you all, who will be in our hearts especially this year.
with our Love -

Dear Ellen: Our condolences to you and your family. If it had not been for Bob we never would have had the experience of a lifetime in Europe. He had more creativity than all of us put together.

Dear Ellen & Family - Bob was an early mentor and booster of my career at Alcoa dating back to 1965. I always enjoyed working with and learning from Bob, he put a great team together in Pittsburgh. Lot's of great memories, I was always glad to be part of "his team" and always will be. My condolences to you and the family.

Ellen, Bob was a great mentor and friend to me. I remember so vividly his laugh and sense of humor. I frequently picture us walking back to the office from the Alcoa building with Bob always veering to the left because of his bowed legs. Something I have always carried with me from Bob was his admonition of "Richie lead, follow or get the hell out of my way". That was Bob.

Please accept my condolences.
