Hilary Edward Lawrence, Jr., age 81, passed away Indian River Hospital, Vero Beach, FL on April 17, 2014. He is preceded in death by parents: Hilary Edward Lawrence, Sr. and Ovie Dorothy Williams.
He is survived by wife, Sadie Groves Lawrence; daughter, Terrie Lawrence; son, Hilary Edward "Eddie" Lawrence III (Susan); granddaughters, Ashley Greaux (Timothy), Ayriel Lawrence, Alyssa Lawrence; grandson, Steve Russo; great-granddaughter, Betsy Russo.
Hilary's marriage to Sadie of 61 years was one of the great relationships in history. He was a man who loved and cherished his family passionately. With an insatiable curiosity and amazing wit, he never met a stranger. Retired from the Ford Motor Glass Plant, he was an avid fisherman, a stained glass artisan, U.S. Marine Corps Korean War (Chosin Few) Veteran. He was a 50-year member of Ashland City Lodge 604, Al Menah Temple and Hope Park Church in Bellevue, TN.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home, with Belinda Osburn officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, TN, with military honors. Serving as :allbearers will be Michael Groves, Michael Harris, Rodd Hunter, Larry Groves, Todd Binkley, Larry Parrrish, Gordon McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers are Dan Hargett, Lewis (Doc) Hawkins, Chosin Few Korean War Veterans, Roger and Ann Binkley, Jan Baldwin, Dr. Michaela Scott.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 20th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Monday, April 21st from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. time of service. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made to Nikki Mitchell Foundation (www.nikkimitchellfoundation.org).

Sadie, We were saddened to hear of Hilary's passing and were looking forward to seeing you both in Nashville. We often think of Hilary, as his beautiful glass nite light shines in our dining room. He was a good friend and a true Marine. He will be missed.

Hillary, Sadie, David and Marilyn Landrum Read have been friends sixty years or more. He and Sadie have enjoyed a wonderful long marriage. God bless you Sadie as we know Hillary is already in the presence our Lord.

It was an honor to have enjoyed a longtime business relationship with Hilary, and my wife and I will always treasure a beautiful stained glass nightlight he crafted for us. May God comfort Mrs. Lawrence and the entire family.
