Melissa and I met and worked together at the Health Department for many years. She was always enjoyable to be around and a very hard worker. She never met a stranger. During her leadership, she was instrumental in initiating the WIC program here in Nashville. She will be truly missed by many. Decinda Condrey-Metro Health Dept.

Melissa Overton was a beautiful lady that made a wonderful impression on everyone she met. I will never forget how she stood up for true journalism and would not back down when sometimes bullied by others. She gave so much and made a real difference in the world!!!! Ceja Kingsley aka C.W.

~I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family. Mrs. Overton was my manager at the Metro Health Department for many years. She always set her standards high and taught me to do the same. I will continue to carry her teachings with me throughout my career as she was an extraordinary mentor. May she rest in peace~
