Walter C. Gibson

Age 90, born February 12, 1924; passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Ragan Gibson; son, John (Kathy) Gibson; daughter, Susan (David) Brown; granddaugthers, Ragan and Kathryn Gibson, Heather (Chris) Jones, Ashley Brown; great-granddaughter, Aurora Frances Jones.
He attended Central High School and graduated from Vanderbilt University, School of Engineering and completed his masters degree at Purdue University. He served as a B-17 pilot during WWII in the 8th Air Force, 486th Bomb Group. He was a charter member of the Middle Tennessee Bomb Group. He retired from DuPont after 30 years and was a longtime member of Woodmont Christian Church.
A private graveside service will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, TN or the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, PO Box 1992, Savannah, GA 31402.

Mr. Gibson was a wonderful neighbor and nice Dad to all of Sudy's friends in our hook-up. Please accept my sincere condolences on his loss.
