I have so many warm memories of Terry. Her cooking, of course, and her tolerance and encouragement of our Hendy/Booth/EFA group. Terry left three wonderful children and their families who will carry on her legacy and will continue to make this a better world. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Dr. Gulati and family,
Sending my deepest sympathies. Alzheimers is a slow goodbye and I would like to share with you how much Mrs. Gulati was a huge part of my life. I used to babysit for the Rubins across the street from you- when I started they had 3 kids by the time they relocated to Albany they had 5 kids. Mrs. Gulati would see me with them and would always say "I was a natural with children." How small world it would become when I entered nursing school she would become my advisor and my instructor. During my OR rotation, I grew under her wing. I learned how to learn and become a successful student on my own. After that rotation (semester end)- Mrs. Gulati, would have us-her students over for a luncheon in her home. Yes, the food was delicious- but I remember sitting on her oriental carpet with the sun pouring in of course, no shoes on and wishing someday I would like to have an oriental carpet like hers. Another memory, I have with Mrs. Gulati is that I was the kind of student that had to study and I would be at Elmira College library on the weekend studying either myself or with my boyfriend (who would become my husband) and she would come in with her husband and son--- she would always smile and give me a nod of approval. I would almost look for her so I could be encouraged to keep studying when I was so frustrated. Well, when I graduated Arnot School of Nursing in 1988 she played a huge part in my journey to become a RN. She was thrilled when I told her I was going to Strong, so I could support my husband in graduate school because that was exactly what she did. To fast forward, I became a Mom of 3- graduated magna cum laude with my bachelors, work med/surgical-telemetry unit and yes, I did get that oriental carpet. Rest in peace and thank-you for a journey well done.

Suresh and family:
Oh, so many wonderful memories working with Terry at the school of nursing--always a smile and that twinkle in her eye when she pulled out her flask at various functions, a beautiful cake she made me that I found was cardboard when she had me cut into it(always fun loving), how she would say, "You've got to be joking.", and how creative she was with her very own 'sore' made up of what we had in our lounge (ketchup and mustard) with a dressing over top of that for a class we had. May you have solace in knowing how many lives she impacted. Lynn Rounsville, Syracuse, NY

Suresh and family,

You have my hartfelt sympathy at this sad time. I know Terry had serious health issues for several years so I like to think she is in a better place free from pain. I had one tie with Terry; we were both made Paul Harris Fellows in the Corning Rotary Club on the same day.
November 21, 2013
Our very dear Suresh and Family,
Even though we know how much suffering Terry endured, our hearts are filled with sorrow... a feeling of void seems to linger.
We cherish the fond memories of our Corning days and the special role played by you both. Terry was my Martha Stewart...she taught me to be the Jack of all trades!
Our heartfelt sympathies to you all.

I had to smile when I opened the local newspaper tonight. Even though I was viewing the obituaries, that beautiful face and smile that I remembered for years was on the page. As a young girl, and a receptionist at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Xray Dept., Terry would come to my department to pick up Xrays on the next case she would be involved in in the OR that day. She ALWAYS had a smile, ALWAYS was professional, and ALWAYS treated everyone...no matter your position or status....with respect. I admired her alot, and she never knew this, but she was a mentor to me, from a distance.
Today, as a nurse myself in our local pediatric office, I often refer patients to a surgeon, Dr. Raj Gulati. My patients' parents come back to tell me of this wonderful young surgeon, who treats them with the same respect......and who I never realized, until now, was the son of the woman I had admired all those years. I only hope I am half the nurse....and, more importantly,....the person...your mother is. I am so sorry for your loss. Terry DeMember, Southern Tier Pediatrics

To my friends - Suresh, Raj, Prem, and Sonya ....My heart goes out to you and your families. Terry was an inspiration for me and I will never forget her. She spent her life serving others and I am so very thankful that I have known her. So glad I had the chance to see my dear and longtime friend every week and would not have had it any other way.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you -
