Thinking of you .
Friday, 14 September 2018
So very sad to hear John lost what had been a very brave fight. It's been years since I've seen him but he was an amazing friend to our family and we owe him a debt of gratitude. To this day I still think of him whenever I see an English Pitbull Terrier - his love of his dogs was always evident, and he defended their quirky looks to the ends of the earth! Much love to Chrissy, we are thinking of you at this awful time.

So sorry to hear about John's passing. I knew him and Chris for 35 years. RIP big guy.

John had an incredible sense of adventure and adored his motorcycle. Growing up, Chris & John visited us for 2-3 weeks at a time almost every other year, up until this very day 17 years ago, when air travel (and the world) changed forever. Fast forward to 5 years ago, I was able to travel to New Zealand for the first time with my mom (Chris' cousin) to see Chris & John, and explore New Zealand the true, Kiwi way. We landed in Wellington, spent a few days there, and then took the ferry to the south island to Christchurch. We ate delicious food, hiked up waterfalls, drove the coast, and most importantly, reconnected.

2 years ago, Chris & John made their first trip back to Michigan to attend my wedding and visit all of us. It was extremely meaningful to have them at the wedding for many reasons, but having them there to represent my mom's side of the family is something I will never forget.

John had a very memorable, thick, accent that was most prominent when he said "right." Chad (my husband) will honor his life doing his best impression of his accent, as we all work toward celebrating the many years of joy he brought all of us. Rest in Peace, John. We will all miss you.

Writing this from New York. So sad the read this. Fond and funny memories of working with Mint on the northern I car in the late 70's. Condolences to Chris.

R.I.P my friend. Sadly lost the brave fight. The (sometimes)heated conversations on politics, motorcycles, religion, etc, will be missed ... as will all the help over the years.
