I enjoyed the music and arrangements of the multi-talented George Duke for so many years from when I was a teenager into my adulthood. Never ever heard anything bad about him...his comtemporaries always spoke so well of him and he always semed to be a down-to-earth and nice man. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see him perform live with Rachelle Ferrell, Gerald Albright and Jonathan Butler, at Wolf Trap, back in the Summer of 1997. It was a sold-out concert and so nice. Love me some No Rhyme, No Reason (ran out and bought the cassette, back in the day, after only hearing that song)! Also loved his piano playing on Anita Baker's Lead Me Into Love (remember seeing them perform this song, together, on late night TV, in the late 1980s). Sweet Baby (with Stanley Clarke) is also one of my favorites. He knew and understood what real music was. Rest In Peace, George! Your music lives on forever.
