The Friday after ... I happened to be home with sick kids when the phone rang. It was my friend who has been more like a sister to me, especially when we lived in the same building in West Warwick, just a few short years ago. She asked me if I had heard, and then she told me what happened. As I turned on the tv and put it on CNN, I was in complete shock. My daughters were watching with me. They were not as shocked as I was, they had never been to the Station, but they knew I had been there. Playing darts in the league or just going to shoot pool and listen to the music. My middle daughter crawled into my lap, hugged me, and said "Mommy, I'm sooo glad we don't live there anymore. You might have been there." And she was right, my friend Jenn and I would have gone. We grew up in the 80's and liked Great White.
I would like to send my deepest, heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of those who died or were injured at The Station.

Although we now live in Sarasota, FL, Rhode Island will always be our roots. We were so saddened by this terrible tragedy and feel a great sense of loss. Our love and prayers go out to all those who must bear the loss of a loved one, all those who suffer the pain of their injuries, and all those beautiful people who are now with the Lord. May all Rhode Islanders find strength and peace within their souls to deal with this horrific tragedy.
