On Friday morning my friend that lives here in Maryland called me at 7:30AM to tell me that there was a fire at a nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island, I immediately turned on the TV and watched in absolute disbelief. I couldn't figure out where this was in RI, I called my sister in Rhode Island and she told me it was the old Papa Brillo's (which I'd eaten at several times) which is only about 4 miles from my parent's house in Warwick where I grew up. I was saddened & shocked. I know what a tight knit community Rhode Island is and West Warwick are. I moved here 11 1/2 years ago, I come back maybe once a year, when I open the up the Providence Sunday Journal to look in the Accent section at the Weddings, I always know someone, either I went to school with them or with their brother or sister. I have no doubt that almost everyone in Rhode Island will know someone who was a victim of this tradegy. My deepest sympathy to all the families, friends, nurses, doctors, rescue workers, fireman, policeman, many volunteers and the State of Rhode Island.
