Joseph B. Jeansonne
NEW IBERIA - Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Joseph B. Jeansonne, age 82, Saturday April 6, 2013 at 10:30am at David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum with Military Honors by the VFW Post 1982.
Visitation will begin Friday April 5, 2013 at 11:00am until 10:00pm with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Saturday April 6, 2013 at 8:00am until service time.
A native of Simmsport and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Jeansonne died Thursday April 4, 2013 at 7:48AM at residence of his daughter in Erath, LA. Mr. Jeansonne retired from Voorhies Machine Shop in New Iberia, LA., and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr.
Jeansonne had many hobbies ranging from working in his home garden to working in his shop however, his 1st love is going on Road Trips.
Mr. Jeansonne is survived by his daughter, Kerry LaBiche and husband Todd of Erath,LA.; his son, Julius Jeansonne and wife Debra of New Iberia; his brother, Milan Lemoine and wife Marsha of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Anna Lemoine of Simmesport, LA., Lula Ann and Marie Lemoine of Cottonport, LA; grandchildren, Wendy Gilfoil and husband Jamie of Houston, TX; Stacey Rebert and husband Shane of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Jean-Paul Delahoussaye and wife Jennifer of Denver CO; Natalie Cormier and husband Jeremy of Erath and Jerico Jeansonne of New Iberia; great- grandchildren, Breigh, Destin and Shaina Rebert, Tyler Jeansonne, Jace, Gracie and Tristan Delahoussaye, Alex, Hannah and Noah Gilfoil, Bryce and Kelsey Cormier and Dawson Price.
Mr. Jeansonne was preceded in death by his spouse Ella Dore Jeansonne; parents, Benjamin Jeansonne and Vivian Lemoine Jeansonne; brothers Albert and James Lemoine.
Serving as pallbearers will be Julius, Jerico and Tyler Jeansonne, Todd LaBiche, Jean-Paul Delahoussaye, Jeremy Cormier and Jamie Gilfoil.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jace Delahoussaye, Alex and Noah Gilfoil, Bryce Cormier and Dawson Price.
