James "Jim" Dudley Sutton
LAFAYETTE - A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for James "Jim" Dudley Sutton, 87, who died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Inurnment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.
Rev. Ann Sutton, Pastor of Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will officiate.
Jim was born Saturday, May 2, 1925 in Southport, North Carolina and was a long-time resident of Acadiana. He proudly served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a Mechanical Supervisor for Phillips Petroleum for many years. Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lafayette.
He was a Mason, an avid hunter, enjoyed golfing, gardening and fishing. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his family and socializing with friends.
Mr. Sutton is survived by two daughters, Sandra Smith and husband Steve of Lake Charles, Patricia Walker and husband David of Breaux Bridge; six grandchildren, Tara Olivier of Church Point, Lindsay Smythe of Big Lake, Morgan Trowbridge of Monroe, Ginny Walker of New Orleans, Megan Kidd of Breaux Bridge and Joshua Kidd of Brackney, PA; five great grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy Sutton of Long Beach, MS; a sister, Helen Dean Smith of Nashville, TN and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Marie LeBoeuf Sutton, his parents, James David Sutton and Thelma Dudley Sutton, one daughter, Rebecca Ann Sutton Kidd and one sister, JoAnn Guarisco.
Visitation will be observed on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette from 1 pm until the time of services.
