Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your dear love one. “And no resident will say: I am sick…” Isa 33:24. This is a promise God has made known in his word. Perhaps one day in the divine future you or I may see again those fallen from our lives due to a sickness or illness that led to an untimely death. Prayers go out to the surviving family and friends may the God of comfort continue to bless you and yours.
I loved her books!! I have an "Ancestor's" print in my living room from China (the Pearl Market) because of Suzy as well as antiques, shoes and grocery store"finds" thanks to her. She made shopping a great adventure and her suggestions were spot on! My condolences to her family. She lived my dream.
I will always remember Mike and Suzy. Mike was my husband's manager. Suzy brought me food when I was pregnant and encouraged me to become a freelance writer. I am very sorry to learn she has passed away.
Unaware of what Suzy and her family had been going through, I'd periodically check for an update to Suzy's travel blog, not knowing until today that she recently passed away. Words can't describe the pain I feel and how sorry I am. I read every single one of Suzy's books and would have loved to have personally known and traveled with her: what a fabulous woman. I was always on the lookout for her latest book. My heartfelt prayers go out to her entire family.
I just began to see what new books might be available from Suzy for an upcoming trip to England and France.I was so sorry to learn of her passing. Not only were her shopping tips spot on her hotel suggestions such as the Palais in Biaritz spectacular.
What a loss to shoppers and business owners alike.
I hope she is someplace elegant surrounded by beautiful things.
I wished I'd made of an effort to meet her.
Rest in Peace

I trust that Suzy had a full and happy life! She was a bright and giving person. My husband passed in 2007 from brain cancer - he was a people person too who loved Life. This is a dreadful disease. Peace and love to your family.
May the Hearer of prayer give you the comfort needed during this time. Psalm 65:2
My sincerest condolences to Suzy Gershman's family. May you receive the strength to endure this very difficult time from God above.
I was saddened to read the Times obituary on the loss of a great gal Suzy Gershman whom I met courtesy of Paul B, some 30 years ago. Her love of life drove her passion for shopping. And it was Suzy's gift for writing that infected me and so many of her readers with the shopping bug. In her own way Suzy no doubt rescued the economy of many a developing nation!! She will be sorely missed in the unique world she created.

I met Suzy once when she came to Book Passage in Corte Madera, CA to sign her book Born to Shop San Francisco. I felt like I knew her forever as I have been using her shopping books for years. My sister and I refer to Born to Shop Italy as 'the bible' and never go abroad without the most recent copy tucked in our purses. Suzy will be forever in my heart and so many of us will miss her.
With deepest sympathy to the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during this difficult time and may God grant you the comfort to endure.

Never met you, Suze, but feel like I know you. On behalf of all your readers, thank you beyond words for all the total shopping fun you have given to us all. The world was a friendlier place because of you. You made every vacation to unknown places familiar and adventurous as we carried your fabulous books in our purses. Knock 'em dead up there, Suze. You'll do wonders for Heaven's economy! Job incredibly well done!
Suzy died way too young. So not fair. She was such a unique talent and personality -- gutsy, imaginative and devilishly clever. So many of us, her friends, will miss her.
Suzy, your radiant smile and humorous insight was contagious. A gal who always had a spring in her step and passed it on to everyone she met!
My wife and I met Suzy when she relocated to Paso Robles, Ca lifornia. Our friendship with Suzy grew almost immediately and we look back at many good times with her fondly. She was a warm, beautiful person with a heart of gold. We feel honored to have been friends with Suzy! Rest in peace.
I didn't know Suzy personally but just read her book C'est la Vie. It was endearing because her honest and vulnerable style of writing allowed one to experience her Paris almost as if they were there. What a loss to us all, but what a valient spirit she is!
Suzy, you have left us with so many wonderful memories.
You often said you would never end a conversation with "goodbye", as you signed off with "see you again". We love you and will see you again as we wait for your "Born to Shop Heaven" book. XO. Pam Basco
