Bill and Family:

For some reason I just thougnt about this way of expressing my sorrow to you and your family about the unfortunate death of Mary Ann.

She was such a fine lady and her enthusium was so contagious and wonderful. After Helen and I left Baton Rouge for unknown places Mary Ann and her sorority sisters were always on our minds. I know her death was a huge loss for the Brown family and I am so sorry that I was unable to attend her funeral and meet the entire Brown family again after all of these years.

I hope the family is heathly as there age and dispositions will allow them to be.

Love

Dear Judge Brown and Laurie, I feel privileged to have known Mrs. Brown and will always cherish her beauty and kindness to the Patton family. She taught me what a true Southern lady truly is. With all the grace, charm and that beautiful southern drawl..I can hear her now. When I think of my childhood I think of the beautiful family we lived next door too. I will always and forever look up to Ms. Mary Ann as she required us to call her, which took our northern blood some time to get used too! Mary Ann Brown was the one and only, just saying her name brings warmth to your heart. Love to you all and God Bless from the bottom of my heart.

Mrs. Brown's inspiration to the students at Central exists to this day. I was in her eighth and eleventh grade English classes. She was an excellent role model for me. My condolences to the family. May her spirit remain with you always,
Betty Powers, 1965 graduating class of Central High School, Baton Rouge, LA.

God has indeed blessed us all for letting us share a time with Mrs. Brown. She made a positive difference in the lives of everyone who met her. May God grant you peace in knowing the joy she shared wherever she went. We love her. Doug and Cooky Browning

Bill, Please know that we have never forgotten you and Mary Ann when Martha Mott Jackson was ill with cancer. She sent a card every week and you brought Martha her favorite food, fresh greens. She thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday School class with both of you. She touched so many lives and was such an asset to Ingleside Methodist Church.
We are thankful that we were blessed with knowing her. Prayers for your strength. Love, Carolyn and Jimmy Wilson and Pam Myers.

David and I are so sorry to hear of Mary Ann's passing. She was such a gracious, compassionate lady. In a way, she was Aunt Helen made over - her house filled with the scent of rose petals and camellias, her mind challenging you at every turn and her heart full of grace. She will be missed. You are all in our hearts and prayers. Mother (Amellia Ann "Trip" Adcock Hannigan) asked that I let you all know she is thinking about you.
