I interacted briefly with Mark a fair few years ago regarding a technical toolkit he was instrumental in developing. The tool (Xlw) is now in use across the world, at some of the biggest quant. divisions in the biggest financial institutions.

Perhaps it will be some solace to his family to know that Mark's efforts live on in this toolkit, which is beautifully designed and almost a work of art itself, largely due to Mark's efforts.

Dear Joshi family,

I had the privilege of meeting Mark at the Quantitative Methods in Finance (QMF) conference in Sydney. I thanked him dearly for his publications.

Without the guidance of Mark, I would have never made it to the top of my quantitative career.
We will always remember the impact Mark had in the quantitative community.

My sincere condolence on the loss of an iconic leader.

We will surely miss him.

It was my privilege to join Catherine and K, Mark's parents here in Dunblane, Scotland for the streaming of his memorial service. Although it was a heartbreaking experience for all, I was humbled by the dignity of his parents and the feeling of pride they felt for their son. My condolences go to Mark's family and friends.
