A sad day for the Burnt Orange! Coach Royal has been one of my true heroes for over 50 years. Thank God for Coach and may He bless and comfort the Royal family and the Longhorn faithful.

This country has lost a true football legend and college football owes so much to him for making it part of the core of our culture that it is today. Being raised as a Razorback fan in North Little Rock, I saw him elivate the words rivalry and sportsmanship to new level. Now, living in San Antonio, my memories of Coach Royal are of his love of country music, frequent visits to the Riverwalk, friends (Cactus Pryor, Frank Broyles, & Willie Nelson), and Texas Hill Country golf. What A man. God bless him. Thanks for the memories!
