My deepest sympathies to the Farina family. Dennis was a very good actor and I enjoy several works of art that he completed, both serious and comical, ex. the annoying and strangely enough corrupt Captain. Detillo, who risked everything for his criminally insane and unstable son Jimmy, a detective with bad habits, serial killing and expressive force in "Striking Distance" and as Karen Cisco's (J. Lo) father Marshall Cisco in "Out of Sight" who offers father to daughter advice to Karen when she's a federal marshall hunting down career bank robber, Jack Foley "George Clooney" vs. That Old Feeling where he went toe to toe, mouth to mouth (literally and figuratively) with voluptious actress Bette Midler. Those two were unbelievable in that movie hating one another and finding spark in one another often at the drop of a hat - so hilarious - it was flipped back and forth quite a few times. Also, he demonstrated a high level of character portraying Albert Lombard in Miami Vice, the lone shark and crime boss who Crockett had a personal vendetta against when Lombard had one of Crockett's ex's killed, then next time around Crockett has to protect the man while in wit-sec and awaiting testifying against another criminal. Lombard in return displays a high level of honor amongst criminals by refusing to testify, not surprising for those in the criminal world, but still it's a moral code that he chooses to live by which puzzles Crockett with the amount of times the defendant had went after Lombard and Crockett figured Lombard would "burn" him just to get even. Those were my favorite works of Mr. Farina's. Granted only the movie That Old Feeling was probably one of his bigger roles in comparison to the others with lead male supporting role as Captain Detillo as next best, all three movies and the TV show were ones I can remember to date about how I can hold Dennis to a high regard for his talents. I am very sorry for everyone's loss of Dennis Farina. He was certainly one of the best and he will be truly missed.

Mr. Farina was a GREAT ACTOR. In many cases his comedy roles were really the highlight of the movies he made. Our particular favorite was his role as a hit man in Big Trouble. He will be greatly missed.

Something tells me there will be lots of "Law and Order" up there with Jerry Orbach & Dennis Farina in charge.I loved both of them in that show, they both were real class acts that left us way too soon.
Hope it brings comfort to his family knowing that many others share this great loss.
