Bobby Duke was the epitome of a caring educator. No matter
what position he held he was
a guide to all. He set a high
bar for others to follow.
The passing of bobby duke has sadden me greatly, the dukes were friends of my family since I was a little girl I am 56 years old now. The dukes were always willing to help anyone in need. They were the family every one dreamed of having. I will always remember the day I found a kitten at school I wanted to take it home but knew my mom was not going to have that so I told my mom mr. Duke told me to take it home so I did in a brown paper bag. Well it worked I had that cat for many years. Thanks to bobby duke.
Carlisle, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your daughters.
Your dad was my Principle @ Dateland, he was a great man. Your Uncle Carlisle was my 7th grade teacher @ Dateland.
Who would of thought years down the road, your mom Billie would be my Supervisor @ 1st National Bank in Coachella, Ca. (The only bank at that time)
Having you as a CoWorker completed the circle on my history with the Duke Family. My sister Roni had worked @ bank and she told me I would love working with your mom, and she was right.
I had the privilege to sit and talk to your dad a few years ago at office.
It brought so many great memories. I am blessed to have spent that time with Mr B Duke.
He reminded me to never forget who I am, my family history and the friendshipsboth your mom & dad had with my parents.
Dad is now the Security Guard @ bank.
Be strong and remember B&B are in heaven dancing the night away.

Mr. Bobby Duke......was my Principle when I was at Dateland Jr. High. Later he was our Superintendent of our Coachella School District, a great man.....he will truly be missed. Prayers and Blessings to his widow and family.
Bobby Duke was my superintendent when I came from Oklahoma in 1980 to begin my teaching career in the CVUSD. Bobby took me on a tour of the district. I appreciated his taking the time to give me a driving tour of the district.
When Bobby retired in 1983, there was such an outpouring of love and appreciation for the lives of those he touched in his many years with the district. He was a great leader and an exceptional individual. I will miss his wonderful sense of humor.

Bobby Duke was my principal in junior high school at Dateland Junior High. Our family thought he was a true gentleman, great leader, and all around terrific human being. My mother was blessed to call Bobby Duke her boss and a lifelong friend until she passed in 2007. Mrs Lucille Barnes, teacher at Dateland, thought the world of Bobby Duke. Condolences to Bobby's family. I still see his smiling face and will remember him with kindness for all my years to come. Rest in peace, Mr. Duke.
I had the privilege to work under Bobby Duke's guidance as a principal in CVUSD. What an honor for me when Bobby enrolled his granddaughters in my school years later! It was at Ford School that I had the chance to talk with grandpa Bobby after school everyday. And when I retired in 2010, long after Taylor and Lauren left my school, Bobby came by to say goodbye. He will be missed for what he did in life and for who he was as a friend.
Carlisle and family, Just found out Mr. Duke has gone to heaven. What a wonderful man he was, such a gentle heart, all your family were so kind to everyone, no matter who they were. Having him as a principal and friend in our adult years was a Blessing. Your mom is now with him, as is my classmate Gordon. So many memories have come back to me and Richard and my family. They gave us inspiration in our life. We will miss him. May God Bless you Carlisle in the days to come. Richard and Judyann (Gutierrez) Moreno
I had the honor of working with Bobby at CVUSD in the 70's. I knew him as a principal and district administrator and saw him "under fire" more than a few times. He always remained a decent gentleman under all circumstances. Very humble and generous with his praise for others and their work. He treated everyone the same way whether they were bus drivers, principals, teachers, parents, custodians or office personnel. He set a fine example of what an educator should be. How privileged I was to have known him.

Mr. Bobby Duke was a longtime friend of the Calderon family of Coachella. He was kind, loved and will be dearly missed.
He was a true gentleman. As a frequent adversary during teachers' contract negotiations, he earned my respect and ultimately my friendship through his professionalism and the power of his personality. I will miss seeing him those many times at Ciro's. Rest in Peace, Bobby, you will always have a special place in my memories.
My condolences to the Duke family, I have known Mr.Duke for many years, him being my sixth grade teacher and then my eight grade teacher and a personal friend of my family,he is the only person up to this day that still called me by my middle name.RIP
Taylor, Lauren, Carlislie your in our thoughts. Love you all.

I knew Mr. Duke as a teacher in grade school and as a long time patient with
the late Wallace G Wheeler, MD. I considered him a friend. He was always a gentleman. May he rest in peace.
