I new Parky at Casita Hospital, when B.Gene Morris was there. A great physician, and a great family man. Missed.
Those of us who were lucky enough to know this wonderful Doctor are truly lucky. Dr. Parky delivered our second child Marcus. Over the years I had many occasions to talk and visit with Dr. Parky and what an inspiration this man truly was. He will be greatly missed.

I had the opportunity to visit him frequently while he was working in an adjoining office in 1999. He was one of the most accomplished physicians that I have had the pleasure of meeting. He seemed to have a never-ending assortment amazing life stories, each one more incredible the last! We will miss you Parky!

Parky was such a big part of our lives, from being neighbors in Sungold to being my mothers favorite boss. My mother still fondly talks about the 8 years she worked with Dr. Parkinson as the best job she ever had. Our loss is heavens gain. Gods speed Dr. Parky

I have wondered, "What does it take to be
a World War II combat soldier who rose to the rank of General; who became a physician beloved by his community; who cared for the needy in third world countries including for Mother Teresa; who became an Iron Man."
I have wondered, "What does it take to be loved, appreciated and admired by us who were blessed to be touched by him?"
It seemed to take a quality, a greatness, of character amd spirit which transcended even all of his accomplishments.
I remember Dr Parkinson as the only physician I visited from my earliest memories until leaving the desert after high school in 1970. While I never looked forward to visiting him, he always made the trips as painless as possible. As a former high school and college runner, I still remember hearing about his successful triathalon exploits and being very proud to have known him.
I just now heard that your Dad passed away - please know that my heart goes out to all of you - you are in my prayers. I loved your Dad he was the BEST doctor in the world - there will never be another one like him - he made house calls - you could call him at home anytime - he'd meet you at the office 24/7. Your Dad was the best!!! Hugs & Prayer Janet

Dr Parkinson called the highway patrol named Watson and he took my son to CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN LOS ANGELES. 1963 in Indio. Visited my house just to see if my son was ok. Visited again when my son was 30 yrs. he always remembered my son by name.. Your father is a gardin ANGEL. Never will forget him.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Dr. Parkinson will always be a part of our lives. He delivered all our children and even made a house call when our daughter was convulsing. He will never be forgotten. We love him dearly. What a beautiful example of a selfless and loving person. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family.

Jimmy, sorry for your loss. God Bless Dr. Parkinson, he was a great mentor, and friend to my family. We will surely miss him. RIP Dr. Parky
Parky was an upfront, practical and direct doctor who knew how to get things done without any ceremony or bull crap. I appreciated this approach both physically and personally and thrived while under his care . He will be sorely missed.
Knowing his promptness and careful attention to detail, I' bet he is the first in formation at his first heavenly muster call .
Dr. Parkinson, Thank You for being a great doctor to our community. RIP.
So many memories of this great man. He was our family doctor and friend for so many years. You will always be remembered Dr. Parkinsons.

Dr. Parkinson, a great doctor, and a friend to everyone. I admire him for his adventurous spirit which kept him active and involved with life. He has contributed much to the lives of his family and his friends. I'm fortunate to have known such a man. May his family be comforted in knowing he served well his calling in life, and he is able once again to be active and involved.
My love to the family,
So many greats are passing..how fortunate to have known them and for so many years! So respected and admired! Parky was considered one of the guys back in the good old days at Indio Police...and we ALL (fondly?) remember those annual physicals!! Rest in peace, Parky!
jim and family, my condolences. I feel deprived that I didn't personally know your dad better. yet I knew so much about him from relatives and friends. i'll never forget when two tall gringos came to my parent's market in mecca back in 1980 something and you introduced yourself and your father. i hope he looks up my dad on the "other side" and have him come in for a check-up.
Doc Parky, General Parky you were a great man!
The mold has been broken. God Bless.
Our warm condolences to the Parkinson family. He was a great man.
Jim - Condolences to your entire family, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He, Dr. Wally Wheeler, and others were some of the remarkable community members that influenced me growing up in Indio. So many wonderful memories of growing up in the 1960's, and I vividly remember that Blk MGB roadster he drove when we were in HS. A great man who gave so much to our community. Stan
My deepest condolences to the Parkison family. Dr. Parkinson was my doctor for many Yeats in Indio. When I was expecting
my baby he taught me self-
hypnosis to endure the labor
pains. That was a remarkable
experience as I didn't need any
pain meds and had labor for
about 75 minutes total! I credit
him with that ease and with
countless other ways he
helped me and my family
during the years that I lived in Indio. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. He and his wife raised
some pretty awesome children! Jim and Sue, my thoughts are with you! Hugs!!!
Physician, soldier, man extrodinaire.
Jim, sorry for your loss, he was a great dr. and a special person. I am sure your memories will bring you peace.

He was a true renaissance man - a timeless individual, loved and respected by everyone who knew him. I am truly sorry I am not in town to be able to celebrate his life with the family,
My condolences to the Parkinson Family. Dr. Parkinson was a true Coachella Valley icon and pioneer. His skills were second to none and his contributions to the local and medical community will live on. We were all blessed to have Dr. Parkinson in our community.
Just the end of an era, for Indio. He joins Wheeler, Dannybaum and Sarita..Parky will be missed.
I still remember his lessons of how to start, stop, and prevent a nose bleed. 20 + years later his lessons and examples are still part of who I am. I was blessed to have known him for a brief time. And I'm grateful for his example, of how to be a human being. Not many did as well as he.
Rest in Peace Doctor Parkinsons.
Thank you for taking care of my family 1977-1983

Parkey brought me into this World. Was doctor to my mother, grandmother, and myself. The valley will be a little bit dimmer without him.
You will truly be missed. Thank you for all the medical care during my childhood and for being such an inspiration in high school as you often swam with us to prepare for your iron man trips.
