Jim, Today is my birthday, and I'm so sad that you are not here in person to celebrate it with me. It was even sadder on your birthday a month ago when I spoke to you all day, and I knew you heard me, but I could not see you. You are still forever in my heart and my greatest love I have ever known. Your kindness that you have taught me I have passed on to others and it is in doing for others that makes me happiest. You taught me this by your life example...your legacy you left that still serves others.
I keep your "shrine" in our home and I honor you with the way I live my life..thank you for inspiring me. I love you and I know I will be with you again in the next realm of eternity.
Love, Mack xoxoxoxo

I graduated from Ball State with Jim in 1972. We moved to Ft Myers Beach a year later. At the time I didn't know Jim well but had been told to be sure to contact him. I'm glad I did. He was very helpful. We ended up moving into the same small complex he lived in near the beach. During our time there we became good friends. Jim was even Godfather to our daughter Alexa. Sadly after Jim returned to Indiana we lost touch. I just got word of his passing yesterday through the Ball State alumnus publication. So sorry to hear...May God bless and strengthen those who were close to him.
